How long does it take to give birth when the cervix is 3 fingers dilated

When pregnant women feel that their cervix is 3 fingers dilated, they will be very scared, worrying that they are about to give birth. In fact, in this case, they must stay in bed and wait for delivery, so that they can give birth smoothly. The most important thing is to stabilize their emotions and not be too nervous. If the emotions fluctuate too much, it will also affect the delivery.

How long will it take for a pregnant woman to give birth if she is three fingers dilated?

1. The length of delivery time is related to the maternal age, fetal position, mental factors, cervical dilation and the resistance of the pelvic floor tissue. It usually takes 10 to 20 hours for a primipara to give birth. For multiparas, because the tissues of the cervix and pelvic floor become relaxed after the expansion of childbirth, labor progresses faster than for primiparas, and the labor process is within 10 hours.

3. Some women have particularly strong uterine contractions and the labor process is significantly shortened. Delivery in less than 3 hours is called "rapid labor." Some women who are older or nervous may fear childbirth, which may prolong the labor process. If labor lasts longer than 24 hours, it is called delayed labor. Once labor is delayed, the chances of surgical delivery and infection will increase.

1. Uterine contraction: Starting from the end of the 8th month of pregnancy, pregnant women will feel their abdomen tightening and hardening from time to time whether they are standing, sitting or walking. This is the beginning of the uterine contraction. The intervals between each contraction vary in length, ranging from a dozen minutes to two hours. The duration of a contraction is relatively short, with each contraction not exceeding half a minute at most. Multiple contractions can last no longer than half a minute. Contractions often occur at night and cannot dilate the cervix, which is called false labor. The pregnancy enters the active labor period at 38-40 weeks. During this period, if the uterine contractions occur every 2-3 minutes and last for 30-40 seconds, accompanied by progressive dilation of the cervix, these are the uterine contractions before delivery.

2. Bloody secretions appear in the vagina: This is due to the dilation of the cervix, which causes the fetal membrane near the internal cervical os to separate from the uterine wall, causing the capillaries to rupture, commonly known as "seeing blood". Generally, the amount of spotting is less than the normal menstrual volume. If it exceeds the menstrual volume, it is abnormal. Bloody show usually occurs within 24 hours before labor begins.

4. Lowering of the fundus of the uterus: About two weeks before the actual delivery, the fundus of the uterus will drop and the abdomen will bulge forward and downward. At this time, the fetal movement will be less than before, and the pregnant woman will feel more comfortable in the upper abdomen, breathe more freely, and have an increased appetite. However, she will have frequent urination, a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen, or back and leg pain, difficulty in movement, and increased vaginal secretions. For primiparas, this indicates that the fetal head has entered the pelvis and is fixed; it also indicates that for multiparas, the fetal head has entered the pelvis, or is close to entering the pelvis.
