Is the follicular phase a safe period?

Before having sex, both men and women will consider the woman's safe menstrual period and ovulation period. The safe period and ovulation period are two corresponding periods, because if you have sex during the ovulation period, it will increase the woman's chance of pregnancy. Calculating a woman's safe period and ovulation period is a very complicated process, so women who have the conditions can calculate it through software. But when a woman's body is in the follicular phase, is it a safe period?

Is the follicular phase a safe period?

From the perspective of contraception, each menstrual cycle of a woman can be divided into the menstrual period, ovulation period and safe period. It is easier to get pregnant during ovulation period, while having sex during follicular phase and luteal phase is relatively safe. However, the follicular phase is not the same as the safe period. The traditional safe period is the seven days before menstruation and the eight days after menstruation. The follicular phase refers to the 3rd to 14th day of the menstrual cycle, which generally lasts for 10 days. If a woman's menstrual cycle is irregular or ovulation occurs early, pregnancy is possible even if she has sex during the follicular phase. So the follicular phase is not absolutely safe.

Can you get pregnant during the follicular phase?

Generally speaking, the chance of pregnancy during the follicular phase is not high, because the first seven days of menstruation and the last eight days of menstruation are the safest ten days. But this does not mean that there is no chance of pregnancy. You can go to the hospital for a blood or urine test to determine. If it is positive, you are pregnant. If you are not ready to get pregnant, it is best to take contraceptive measures during sexual intercourse and protect yourself, because abortion or medical abortion has a great impact on the body.

The survival time of the follicle after being released is generally about 8 hours. When the B-ultrasound detects that the follicle is larger than 2.0cm, it means that ovulation may occur within 48 hours. The survival time of sperm in the body after being released can reach 48-72 hours. Therefore, when the B-ultrasound finds mature follicles, you can start preparing for sexual intercourse. If it exceeds 12 hours, the chance of conception is relatively reduced. It is recommended that you use an early pregnancy test strip about 14 days after having sex to see if you are pregnant.
