Why are nipples itchy and peeling during breastfeeding?

Women are very weak during the breastfeeding period. Since they have to feed their babies every day, their nipples are often exposed to the air, which sometimes contains a lot of dust particles and many bacteria and fungi. The nipples will peel off over a long period of time. If not treated in time, it will also affect the baby's growth. However, do not use irritating ointments, but you can use hot compresses with hot water. Also, make sure to rest and avoid overwork.

It is considered to be nipple cracking. There are many factors that can cause nipple cracking. Common causes include: inverted or too small nipples, which make it difficult for the baby to suck, and excessive force when sucking milk, causing nipple damage. Improper feeding, not putting the nipple and most of the areola into the baby's mouth. Excessive use of irritants such as soap or ethanol drying agents on the nipple. Excessive milk secretion may overflow and erode the nipple and surrounding skin, causing erosion or eczema! If the baby has oral motor dysfunction or oral inflammation, biting the nipple during breastfeeding may also cause nipple fissures. It is recommended to adopt a combination of Chinese and Western medicine for treatment.

It is mostly considered to be caused by nipple inflammation, which may be caused by many bacterial infections. Take oral antibiotics, observe treatment, avoid eating spicy foods, drink plenty of water, and breastfeed correctly. Grind and apply vitamin B6 externally, the effect is very good

Causes of peeling: There are many reasons for peeling of fingers, and the most common one is allergy caused by touching irritating chemicals. Chemicals can irritate the hands, causing peeling and even dermatitis. If you often do housework, especially when you come into contact with various cleaning products without wearing gloves, you may encounter this problem.

There are many reasons for itchy nipples. Since nipples belong to the liver, the liver is mainly responsible for itchy nipples. The main causes of nipple itching are qi stagnation, blood stasis and qi and blood deficiency.

This may be a case of nipple infection. Do not let your child breastfeed for the time being. Wash the nipples with warm water every day. You can apply erythromycin ointment. Continue treatment for 2 to 3 days and observe changes in the condition.
