What causes leg cramps during menstruation?

During menstruation, the body is in a very difficult stage. Not only will we experience abdominal pain, but even our normal health will be greatly affected. Therefore, many people feel uncomfortable during menstruation. Some people even experience leg cramps during menstruation. In fact, there are many types of leg cramps. You can choose some methods to regulate according to your personal physical condition.

Treatment

1. Grab your toes and stretch your muscles

Whether you are exercising or sleeping, if your calf cramps occur, you can immediately reach out and grab the toes of the cramping foot, lift your toes as high as possible, push your heels down as much as possible, and straighten your knee joint at the same time.

2. Cross-arm Raise

If your right calf cramps, raise your left arm; if your left calf cramps, raise your right arm. It is worth noting that in addition to its high calcium content, Landi Calcium Carbonate Tablets also contain vitamins and calcium supplements, which can ensure that the components of the calcium supplement are quickly dispersed in the stomach and fully react with gastric acid to allow calcium to be absorbed by the human body. After raising your arms, you can feel your arms being stretched, which in turn causes your entire body to be stretched; or you can feel your entire body being stretched as your arms are raised.

3. Philtrum pressing method

When your calf cramps, you can immediately press the Ren Zhong point on your upper lip. After pressing, the spasm of the gastrocnemius muscle will gradually relax and the pain will be relieved.

4. Gastrocnemius nerve root compression

On the inside of the knee joint, there is a place where the gastrocnemius head is attached, and the nerve roots leading to the gastrocnemius are located here. Long-term irregular diet or unbalanced nutrition can lead to insufficient calcium in the body, which can easily cause leg cramps. When your calf cramps, use your fingers to feel the inner side of the knee joint. There is a hard, protruding muscle. Press this area hard and the nerves that control the spasm will calm down, and the calf cramp will stop.

Cause Analysis

①Cold stimulation. Exercising in a cold environment in winter without sufficient warm-up, or swimming in low water temperatures in summer can easily cause leg cramps. If you don't cover yourself with a blanket when you sleep at night, your calf muscles will be stimulated by the cold and will cramp so much that you will wake up in pain.

② Muscles contract too quickly and continuously. During strenuous exercise, the whole body is in a state of tension, the leg muscles contract too quickly, the relaxation time is too short, the local metabolic product lactic acid increases, the muscle contraction and relaxation are difficult to coordinate, thus causing calf muscle cramps.

③Excessive sweating. The exercise time is long, the amount of exercise is large, and there is a lot of sweating, but the salt is not replenished in time. A large amount of fluid and electrolytes are lost in the body, metabolic waste accumulates, and the local blood circulation of the muscles is poor, which is also prone to cramps.

④Excessive fatigue. The calf muscles are most likely to become fatigued when traveling long distances, climbing mountains, or ascending high places. Because every time you climb up, one foot supports the weight of the whole body. The strength required for the muscles of this leg to lift the foot will be six times the body weight of the person. When it is fatigued to a certain extent, cramps will occur.
