What to do if the episiotomy wound does not heal

Everyone should be grateful to their mothers, because it is very difficult for all women to give birth to children. Whether women choose cesarean section or natural birth, they are worthy of praise. Especially during the process of natural childbirth, women's bodies will feel intense pain, and some women whose vaginas are too small will have to choose episiotomy. After episiotomy, women should pay attention to the recovery of the wound, but what should they do if the episiotomy wound does not heal?

1. If a woman experiences an episiotomy during childbirth, doctors will generally suture the wound after the baby is born. Generally, the episiotomy wound will heal during the confinement period. If it does not heal, it is because the mother did not get enough rest or was too tired. If you want the wound to heal quickly, you must ensure adequate sleep.

2. If a woman’s episiotomy wound does not heal after giving birth, it means that her physical condition is poor. You can eat more nutritious food, such as pork rib soup, chicken soup, and fish soup to replenish the body's nutrition, which is conducive to the recovery of the wound.

3. If the episiotomy wound has not healed well, it is usually caused by the mother not taking good care of herself. The private parts should be washed with warm boiled water every day after giving birth to ensure cleanliness and hygiene. Then, try to hold the baby as little as possible right after giving birth. You can hold the baby as much as you want after the wound has healed. Remember to change underwear frequently, and make sure the underwear is kept ventilated.

Postoperative Care

1 First of all, keep the vulva clean. From the second day after delivery, rinse the vulva with 10% Cleanser solution, or scrub the vulva with 10% Cleanser, twice a day until the stitches are removed. If you feel swelling or pain in the vulvar wound, seek medical attention immediately. Generally, you can use 95% alcohol gauze wet compress or 50% magnesium sulfate hot compress.

2 Secondly, keep urination and defecation unobstructed, and rinse the vulva and anus after defecation. Change sanitary pads and underwear frequently.

3 In addition, when sleeping or lying in bed, it is best to lie on the side without the perineal wound to reduce the chance of lochia flowing into the perineal wound.
