1. Causes of inflammatory breast masses

1. Breast lumps are formed because lactating mothers lack experience and use incorrect milk discharge methods, resulting in poor milk discharge, causing milk to accumulate into lumps and become infected with bacteria. The bacteria invade the mammary gland through damaged nipple skin or milk ducts, multiplying destructive bacteria in large numbers and forming multilocular abscesses.

2. Some patients have congenital nipple hypoplasia, nipple inversion, nipple inversion and other reasons, which lead to obstruction of milk discharge from the mammary ducts, causing congestion and formation of lumps. Or the mother may breastfeed for too long, and the baby may bite the nipple for a long time, causing erosion or breaking of the nipple surface, resulting in breast trauma and bacteria entering the breast.

3. Postpartum mothers have weak constitutions and reduced immunity, making them susceptible to invasion by germs and catching colds. 2. Clinical manifestations of mastitis

1. In the early stages of mastitis, patients will experience sudden swelling, hardness, pain and tenderness in a certain area of ​​the breast, and the breast will be normal or slightly red with a slight feeling of heat. Patients will suddenly experience pain, swelling and high fever, and are often accompanied by symptoms such as chest tightness, headache, and loss of appetite.

2. If breast inflammation is not relieved and continues to develop, the lumps in the patient's breast will gradually increase in size and harden, and the pain will increase. In severe cases, persistent severe pain will occur. The patient's breast skin will become red and burning, accompanied by high fever, nausea and vomiting, and even swollen lymph nodes in the ipsilateral axillary.

3. In the later stage, when the abscess in the breast matures, it will burst on its own, or it can be drained through surgery. If the patient's abscess is not drained well and the high fever persists, chronic mastitis will develop.

Treatment of inflammatory breast masses

1. If a mastitis lump is found, treatment should be given as soon as possible. In the early stages, if there is no suppuration, it is only necessary to eliminate the inflammation. If the patient has a fever, intravenous infusion can be used to reduce the fever.

2. Once the breast begins to fester, it needs to be incised and drained in time before it can be cured. Generally speaking, as long as the pus is drained, the patient's high fever symptoms will usually disappear and the incision wound will basically heal within one month.
