Bone protrusion behind a woman's neck

The bone protrusion on the back of a woman's neck may be a normal transverse process of the cervical vertebra, or it may be another lump such as lymphadenopathy or lipoma. You can consider seeing an orthopedic doctor immediately for a preoperative consultation, and the doctor will make a judgment based on the physical examination. If it belongs to the normal transverse process of the cervical vertebra, generally no special treatment is required. It is possible to conduct a complete local X-ray examination to determine whether there are any obvious abnormal bone masses. If the doctor considers that the bulge is caused by a soft tissue mass after physical examination, a partial ultrasound examination can be performed to help identify it. Corresponding treatment can be made based on the results of the examination. If it is a large soft tissue mass, such as a lipoma, partial surgical removal can be performed to facilitate recovery.

Possible reasons are: 1. The normal physiological curvature of the cervical vertebrae is convex forward. If it convexes backward, it indicates that the cervical vertebrae are deformed and have cervical spondylosis; 2. There is a nuchal ligament on the surface of the transverse process of the cervical vertebrae. Under normal circumstances, it is on the same plane as the surrounding muscles. Except for the sixth and seventh cervical vertebrae, the transverse processes are longer and more prominent in ordinary people when they lower their heads. If the bony landmarks of other cervical vertebrae transverse processes can be seen on the middle network, it reminds the patient to be thin or the cervical vertebrae are dislocated backwards. Therefore, whether the bony protrusion at the back of the neck is normal requires X-ray diagnosis.

If a woman has bony protrusions on the back of her neck, the first thing to do is to check whether it is because the body is relatively fragile, causing the bones of the neck to protrude more significantly from the skin. If this is the case, there should not be a big problem, just pay attention to increasing nutrition on a regular basis.

If the symptoms are accompanied by muscle stiffness and pain in the neck, it is necessary to consider that it is caused by cervical spondylosis, which is related to bad posture habits such as lowering the head for a long time. It is easy to cause cervical vertebrae disease and may cause changes in the curvature of the cervical vertebrae, which is manifested as more obvious bone protrusions. In this case, you need to do acupuncture therapy, massage, Chinese medicine acupuncture, etc. on the neck to alleviate the symptoms. You should also pay attention to developing good posture habits and avoid lowering your head for a long time. You can also do neck exercises frequently, such as the double-eyed snake pose and neck exercises.
