Four-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound of fetal left ventricle

Four-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound of fetal left ventricle

Many pregnant women want to see the appearance of their fetus very much during pregnancy, and four-dimensional color ultrasound is the best way. Compared with B-ultrasound, the four-dimensional examination is more three-dimensional and can clearly see the facial features and body of the fetus. So what's going on with the strong light spot on the left atrium of the fetus in the four-dimensional image?

The strong echo spot in the left atrium of the fetus is caused by fibrosis of the left atrial papillary chordae tendineae, and is not a malformation of the fetus. There is no effect on the fetus' heart function and no further treatment is required.

The left ventricular strong echo spot is a soft indicator of fetal chromosomal abnormalities and there is no problem if it appears independently. If multiple abnormalities are found in the combination of other soft indicators, it is recommended to further eliminate abnormalities in the fetal sex chromosomes and to perform further minimally invasive fetal DNA testing or amniocentesis.

If the four-dimensional color ultrasound indicates that a soft indicator is abnormal, it is not a big problem. As long as you have regular prenatal checkups, most children will be born healthy.

The most serious possibility is that the fetus has heart disease or it is caused by thickening during examination. This type of test result may also appear when the fetus has chromosomal abnormalities. If you are still unsure, you can further clarify it through minimally invasive DNA testing or amniocentesis.

If the fetus really has congenital heart disease, it is necessary to determine whether it is a fetus with problems during childbirth based on your own condition. You should not face such pressure and you should end the pregnancy as soon as possible. However, some families are special. They want to give birth to a baby even if they have heart disease. In this case, they should start treatment as soon as possible after the baby is born.

In addition to checking whether the fetus has facial deformities and whether the limbs are normal, the four-dimensional color ultrasound can also observe the health of the internal organs. If any problems are found in the fetus's internal organs, solutions can be found as soon as possible. After the test results come out, you should let a professional doctor take a look. The doctor can understand the problems of the fetus based on the test results.
