Can I apply ointment on burns during pregnancy?

Burns are very painful, and in severe cases, blisters may form on the skin. Steam burns are more serious than boiling water burns, and most people will apply some burn ointment on the burned area after being burned. The main ingredient in the burn ointment is musk, because musk can relieve pain and clear heat, but at the same time it can cause miscarriage in women. So, can I apply ointment on burns during pregnancy?

Pregnant women can use burn medicine. After the burn, they should pay attention to keeping the local skin clean and hygienic. For minor burns, you can apply some cat oil, sesame oil or vaseline on the wound. Do not break the blisters on the skin. You can apply some gentian violet or anti-inflammatory ointment on the surface, such as chlortetracycline eye ointment, erythromycin eye ointment, etc., and let it dry naturally. The wound will slowly recover. If the burn area is large, the injury is serious, or the head, face and perineum are burned, you should go to the hospital for treatment immediately.

It can be used externally. After the pregnancy continues, it is recommended to do Down syndrome screening at 14-19 weeks of pregnancy and four-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound at 22-26 weeks of pregnancy. At the same time, do routine examinations such as blood routine, electrocardiogram, urine sample, weight, abdominal circumference, pelvic measurement and uterine height, listen to fetal heart rate and fetal movement, etc. At least 3 B-ultrasounds should be received during the whole pregnancy, about 12 weeks, 24 or 25 weeks and 36 weeks.

Pregnant women can use burn ointment. It can be cleaned with hydrogen peroxide, but after cleaning with hydrogen peroxide, it is recommended to clean it with saline or wipe it clean with gauze to prevent the residual hydrogen peroxide from destroying the subsequent burn and scald medication. For the treatment of burns and scalds, there are three degrees of burns, light, medium and severe. Moderate to light burns are also called shallow second degree and below, which can be treated by yourself at home. After a scald, it is best to rinse with cold boiled water to reduce the degree of scald and local temperature. Then go to the drugstore to buy MEBO moist burn ointment or Jingwanhong ointment and apply the ointment. You can also spray the affected area with white liquor, which is a usage method of the Tujia people. It will not leave scars after healing.
