How thick is the endometrium during pregnancy

Generally speaking, the thickness of the uterine wall has a very close relationship with pregnancy, and the thickness of the endometrium affects a woman's fertility. So, will the endometrium thicken in early pregnancy? How thick is normal?

The thickness of the endometrium has a great impact on women's fertility. If the endometrial thickness does not reach the standard value, it will affect normal pregnancy and may also cause miscarriage.

Due to the large amount of female hormone secretion after pregnancy, the thickness of the endometrium of women's uterus will also increase. The thickening of the endometrium also has the effect of maintaining pregnancy. Generally speaking, the thickness of the endometrium in the early stages of pregnancy is generally around 10mm. Experts say: The thickness of the endometrium that is conducive to pregnancy is about 8mm. The time when the uterine wall is most prone to pregnancy is in the follicular phase.

After the embryo implants, the uterine wall further proliferates and increases in thickness. Under the action of the corpus luteum of pregnancy, decidua changes occur and decidua is formed. Moreover, a certain thickness of the uterine wall is the basis for embryo implantation. A uterine wall that is too thin is not conducive to embryo implantation.

In addition, the thickness of the endometrium is different at different stages of the menstrual period. If the uterine wall is too thick, menstrual pain is likely to occur during menstruation, and it is difficult for the sperm and egg to combine and implant. The normal thickness of the uterine wall is 0.2-1.0 cm. During the menstrual period, the functional layer of the uterine wall falls off, preserving the dermis. During the proliferative phase, which is from the 6th to the 14th day of the menstrual period, the thickness of the endometrium is 1-3mm. During the metabolic phase, from the 15th to the 28th day of the menstrual period, the thickness of the endometrium is 5-7mm.

The thickness of the uterine wall changes with the menstrual period. From the 5th day of the menstrual cycle, the uterine wall is in the proliferative phase, and the endometrium continues to thicken until the 14th day of the menstrual period, when it can thicken to 3-4mm. In the second half of the menstrual cycle, the endometrium is in the metabolic phase, but it continues to thicken, reaching a thickness of 10mm before menstruation.

In general, the uterine wall will thicken in the early stages of pregnancy, and under normal circumstances, the uterine wall will also change with the menstrual period.
