Breast pain and discharge

Breast pain and discharge
Breasts are very important for female friends. Generally, girls begin their second development at around the age of 12, and their breasts begin to change. During this stage, the breasts will feel tingling, and the tingling will gradually disappear as the breasts mature. Some adult women find that their breasts are swollen and painful and have secretions. This situation may be physiological or pathological. Let's learn about it together~

1. Physiological or pathological? True or false? Nipple discharge can be divided into physiological and pathological. In addition to the nipple discharge during lactation mentioned above, milk secretion within one year of cessation of breastfeeding and milk leakage caused by excretion disorders during menopause are all physiological nipple discharge and are normal phenomena. Any other nipple discharge is a pathological phenomenon. Before treating nipple discharge, you need to figure out whether it is true discharge or false discharge. True discharge refers to the outflow of milk from the mammary ducts; while false discharge is usually caused by the shedding of nipple epidermal cells and accumulation in the nipple depression, which can also cause a small amount of fluid to seep out. The discharge will disappear after local treatment.

2. Be careful of these diseases when you have nipple discharge. 1. Intraductal papilloma: This is the most common cause of nipple discharge and is more common in women aged 40-50. When you touch the breast carefully, you can feel a cherry-sized lump under the areola, which is smooth and easy to move. Intraductal papilloma usually has single-hole discharge. Because the tumor has many thin-walled blood vessels, the discharge is often bloody or dark brown. 2. Breast cystic hyperplasia: This disease is often related to ovarian dysfunction. When the ratio of estrogen and progesterone in the body is unbalanced, it is easy to cause cystic hyperplasia. Therefore, it is prone to occur before menstruation and presents cyclical swelling and pain, and the discharge is mostly yellow-green.

3. Mammary duct ectasia: Mammary duct ectasia is common in menopausal women. Nipple discharge is an early symptom of mammary duct dilatation and the discharge is often brown in color. Sometimes one or two milk ducts are blocked, which often causes localized breast pain. 4. Breast cancer: Many people associate nipple discharge with breast cancer, but in fact only about 10% of nipple discharge develops into breast cancer. The peak period of onset is 45-49 years old. When the discharge is bright red, you need to be alert to the possibility of cancer. If you often have breast discharge, you should be alert to breast diseases. The role of breasts is not only breastfeeding, but also an important auxiliary organ for sex. In order to keep breasts healthy, it is important to choose suitable underwear and adjust bad sleeping postures to avoid long-term pressure and deformation of the breasts that may cause disease.
