What does a maternity check-up check?

After giving birth, the mother's physical condition is poor. On the one hand, she needs to strengthen her physical recovery, and on the other hand, she needs to breastfeed in time. After a period of recovery, she needs to go to the hospital for a follow-up examination in time to understand the recovery of her body and avoid some sequelae caused by fertility problems, or even leave some root causes, leading to postpartum diseases. Therefore, there are many items that need to be checked. Let's take a look at what the maternal check-up is?

Pelvic floor examination

When giving birth, the fetus will squeeze the pelvis, causing a certain degree of damage to the mother's pelvic muscles and nerves, which may cause women to face many troubles in their daily lives in the future. These problems will bring many inconveniences to female friends in life, and will cause vaginal relaxation, thus affecting the quality of future sexual life. Some women will experience urinary incontinence after giving birth, which is absolutely unacceptable for women, so they must be examined and treated in time. Receiving pelvic floor recovery training on time can help the pelvic muscles contract, restore the muscles to their original tension and elasticity, and at the same time solve gynecological problems such as urinary incontinence. Generally, 90 days after delivery is the best time to do pelvic floor rehabilitation.

Examination of the uterus

A woman's uterus is squeezed by the baby during pregnancy, and it takes a long time after delivery to shrink and return to its original shape. During the contraction process, lochia is constantly discharged, and under normal circumstances, it will be completely discharged in about two weeks. If the stool is not discharged completely, there may be a problem with the uterus and you need to see a doctor to improve it. Some women think this is normal and keep delaying it, resulting in unnecessary harm.

Gynecological examination

It takes ten months of pregnancy for a new life to be born, and the organs in the pelvic cavity are the major contributors to the birth of new life. After ten months of great and painful process, they are naturally the most important part of postpartum recovery. According to scientific statistics, gynecological diseases have always occupied an overwhelming position in the incidence rate of married women and are called "women's health killers."

Examination of wounds

Whether it is a wound on the vulva from a natural birth or a wound on the abdomen from a cesarean section, the mother must go to the hospital for a complete wound re-examination after the confinement period to ensure that the wound has returned to normal and there is no adverse condition such as inflammation. Also, you should not treat inflamed wounds on your own out of fear or shyness. If not handled properly, it may lead to greater infection, causing illness and unnecessary harm.

Blood pressure check

Modern people are under increasing pressure in life, and their pace of life is no longer leisurely, which greatly increases the probability of suffering from high blood pressure. Changes in blood pressure can cause problems in many aspects of the body, especially for new mothers who have just given birth and are in a weak body. Long-term high blood pressure can cause spasms in blood vessels throughout the body, preventing part of the blood in the body from circulating effectively, and as a result, organs and tissues throughout the body may suffer from ischemia and reduced oxygen carrying capacity. When important organs such as the brain, lungs, heart, liver, and kidneys are threatened by ischemia and low oxygen carrying capacity, it may cause physiological changes such as convulsions, coma, cerebral edema, cerebral hemorrhage, and difficulty breathing. In more serious cases, it may even cause death.

Breast examination

Breasts are an essential part of a woman's beautiful body and an indispensable tool for feeding a baby. Because the breasts slowly accumulate milk during pregnancy, they become very full and tender after delivery. During breastfeeding, the breasts are in contact with the baby's mouth and face every day. At this time, the breasts are very fragile and cannot withstand the slightest harm. Moreover, due to various reasons, there will be problems such as breast pain, breast swelling, etc. More seriously, the breasts may become suppurated, which is not good for breast health. At the same time, it will affect lactation and cause a decline in milk quality. The quality of milk is closely related to the baby's health. It can be seen that checking breast health is not only a care for new mothers, but also an indispensable barrier for the healthy growth of babies.
