Normal incision after cesarean section

Normal incision after cesarean section

With the continuous development of high-tech medical technology, more and more mothers are choosing cesarean section as the birth method. Many pregnant mothers are also curious about how big the cesarean section incision will be? How long can the cesarean section incision be exposed to water? During the operation, the doctor will decide the length of the wound based on the size of the fetus, which is generally about 10 cm. From the perspective of aesthetics, horizontal cross-sections are generally used nowadays. If the pregnant mother does not have a scar-prone physique and the surgery heals well, the scar will be barely noticeable.

The postpartum recovery time of cesarean section is longer than that of vaginal delivery, and the harm to the human body is relatively greater. After cesarean section, the duration of wound pain varies from person to person. Generally, you won’t feel any pain after ten days.

Because a cesarean section does not only have a wound on the abdomen, there is also a wound in the lower part of the uterus, the abdominal muscle layer, the anterior sheath, and the retroperitoneum. It's just that these wounds are not visible in the abdomen. It is completely normal if pressing the wound below the belly button hurts more than pressing the wound.

How long can the cesarean section incision be kept wet?

1. After a cesarean section, you need to recuperate for a period of time. Because the surgical wound has not yet healed, generally you should not get it wet before it heals to avoid wound infection and inflammation. Most pregnant women's wounds will heal in about 2-3 weeks after surgery, so if you need to get it wet, you can do it after two or three weeks, which can reduce the irritation to the wound.

2. If you can get in water after cesarean section, the time should not be too long, especially when taking a bath. You cannot take a bath in the bathtub directly. You can take a shower. This will not allow the wound to come into contact with too much water, and will not easily cause symptoms of intrauterine infection.

3. In order to recover well after cesarean section, you need to pay attention to daily care. Good care measures are conducive to the immediate recovery of scars, so that scars can be cleaned in time. In addition, you should pay attention to hygiene in your daily diet. Eat more fruits and vegetables with light taste, and try not to eat spicy and irritating foods. You should understand which foods are not good for wound healing, so that it is conducive to the operation.
