Amniotic fluid depth at each gestational week

During pregnancy, the amniotic fluid of the pregnant woman is very important, but the amniotic fluid of the pregnant woman is divided into the amniotic fluid index and the amniotic fluid depth. These two types play an important role in the fetus, and the normal standard ranges of the amniotic fluid index and the amniotic fluid depth are different. What is the amniotic fluid depth in each week of pregnancy? Let’s take a look at it together below.

The amniotic fluid index requires dividing the pregnant woman's uterus into four quadrants, namely the upper left and upper right, as well as the lower left and lower right. The vertical sum of the largest amniotic fluid dark areas in these four quadrants is called the amniotic fluid index. Under normal circumstances, the amniotic fluid index is between 9 and 24 centimeters, which is a normal amniotic fluid flow. If the amniotic fluid index exceeds or is equal to 25 centimeters, it is diagnosed as polyhydramnios. Among them, if the amniotic fluid index is between 25 and 35 centimeters, it is considered mild polyhydramnios, if it is between 36 and 45 centimeters, it is mild to moderate polyhydramnios, and if it exceeds 45 centimeters, it is moderate to severe polyhydramnios. When the amniotic fluid index is less than or equal to 5 centimeters, it is a case of oligohydramnios, and when it is less than or equal to 8 centimeters, it is oligohydramnios.

Amniotic fluid index: The uterus is divided into four quadrants: upper left, upper right, lower left and lower right. The sum of the vertical depths of the larger dark areas of amniotic fluid in the four quadrants is AFL. If the AFL exceeds 24cm, it is diagnosed as polyhydramnios. If the AFL is between 18-24cm, it is abnormal polyhydramnios or too much amniotic fluid.

Amniotic fluid depth: B-ultrasound examination expresses the vertical depth of the larger amniotic reservoir. Less than 2 cm indicates oligohydramnios, and more than 8 cm indicates polyhydramnios. It is a medical term and a key indicator to determine the amount of amniotic fluid in a pregnant woman. If there is more amniotic fluid, the fetus can grow happily; if there is less amniotic fluid, it can cause meconium accumulation during the fetal delivery period, and even premature birth or asphyxiation. B-ultrasound examination shows the vertical depth of the larger amniotic fluid reservoir, and the amniotic fluid depth of 3-8cm is the normal amniotic fluid flow. If it is less than 3cm, it indicates that there is too little amniotic fluid, and if it is more than 8cm, it indicates that there is too much amniotic fluid.

Accurate measurement of amniotic fluid in pregnant women: Accurate measurement of amniotic fluid flow is an important indicator for assessing whether the pregnancy is normal. At present, most hospitals use ultrasound to understand the amniotic fluid flow, and use the "amniotic fluid index method" to determine whether the amniotic fluid flow is normal. The method is: divide the uterus into four quadrants, measure the maximum depth of the amniotic fluid of the pregnant woman in each quadrant, and then sum them up to get the total. The total value is normal within the range of 8 to 27 cm. A value below 8 indicates oligohydramnios, and a value above 24 indicates polyhydramnios.
