Left side abdominal pain before menstruation

Left side abdominal pain before menstruation

If you experience pain on the left side of your abdomen before your period, you should be alert to some gynecological diseases, such as pelvic inflammatory disease. Of course, it may also be related to some bad living habits, such as pain during sexual intercourse, etc. Therefore, you still need to go to the hospital for examination in time and be alert to the impact of gynecological diseases on women's health. Let's take a look at this aspect.

Left side abdominal pain before menstruation

Pain in the left lower abdomen accompanied by lower back pain may be pelvic inflammatory disease. Pelvic inflammatory disease is a common inflammatory disease in women, which is mainly related to factors such as sexual life. Currently, the treatment is mainly based on antibiotics and anti-infection treatment, with surgical treatment when necessary. Generally, broad-spectrum antibiotics are used in combination, and antibiotics against anaerobic bacteria are required.

Premenstrual symptoms

What are the symptoms of menstruation? Because the sex hormones in the body suddenly decrease before menstruation, affecting the whole body system, some reactions occur, such as headache, dizziness, diarrhea, breast tenderness, limb swelling, mood swings and other symptoms. These symptoms usually appear 7-14 days before menstruation, worsen 2-3 days before menstruation, and gradually ease and disappear after menstruation. In medicine, these obvious changes are called premenstrual syndrome.

1. Headache

Premenstrual headaches should be functional and not caused by any organ disease. If you often have premenstrual headaches, you should first get checked to rule out some diseases that can cause headaches. If you have headache symptoms on a regular basis or the headache is very severe, you should do CT or MR to rule out the possibility that the headache is caused by tumor.

2. Diarrhea

The main cause of premenstrual diarrhea is spleen and kidney deficiency. According to traditional Chinese medicine, the spleen is responsible for digestion and absorption, while the kidneys are the gateway to the stomach and are responsible for managing urination and defecation. When menstruation comes, the spleen and kidneys become weaker, leading to diarrhea.

3. Dizziness

Every time menstruation comes, there will be symptoms of dizziness, which will occur during the menstrual cycle. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that blood deficiency, yin deficiency, and phlegm and dampness are the causes of the disease.

4. Breast pain

Breast pain before and after menstruation is mostly caused by internal injuries caused by the seven emotions, stagnation of liver qi, and poor circulation of qi and blood. It can also be caused by insufficient essence and blood in the liver and kidneys, and loss of nourishment to the meridians.

5. Edema

The incidence of edema during menstruation is not low, which is mostly caused by spleen and kidney yang deficiency, and can also be caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis. Spleen and kidney yang deficiency will reduce the body's drainage ability; qi stagnation and blood stasis will lead to poor blood circulation, which will be retained in the body and appear as edema.

6. Mood swings

Before menstruation, women are prone to becoming irritable, sad, crying, or suffering from depression and sleepless nights. Experts believe that liver qi stagnation is the main cause, and some people also suffer from excessive thinking.
