Stomach pain and diarrhea in early pregnancy

Most pregnant women will experience pregnancy reactions in the early stages of pregnancy. At this time, the expectant mother's body is very weak and it is easy to suffer from other diseases. Some expectant mothers in the early stages of pregnancy suffer from diarrhea. Generally speaking, pregnancy itself will not cause diarrhea, nor will it aggravate existing diarrhea. However, once diarrhea occurs, it is a dangerous signal for pregnant women, which may stimulate uterine contractions and lead to miscarriage or premature birth, so it should not be taken carelessly. So, what causes stomach pain and diarrhea in early pregnancy?

The most common cause of diarrhea in pregnant women is bacterial infection, among which the most common pathogens are Salmonella, Shigella dysenteriae, Campylobacter and viruses. Food poisoning or viral infections in other parts of the body can also cause diarrhea in expectant mothers, so during pregnancy, especially in the first three months, the cleanliness of food must be strictly controlled. So, what should pregnant women do if they have diarrhea in early pregnancy?

1. It may be caused by cold. You can try to apply hot water bottle to your stomach. Be careful not to make it too hot, wrap the hot water bottle with a towel before placing it on your stomach. Apply hot compress 3-5 times a day, each time lasting about 20 minutes, which has a certain effect on diarrhea caused by cold. While applying hot compress, you can drink a bowl of brown sugar ginger water, which can warm the stomach and stop diarrhea.

2. If it is mild diarrhea, you can buy some smaller carrots, cut them into pieces, add water and boil them (about 1 carrot plus 300ML of water). Drink it every day. It can effectively relieve diarrhea symptoms, and drinking it will not affect the health of the fetus.

3. Eat steamed apples. Steamed apples have a good antidiarrheal effect because of the pectin in the apples. The unheated raw pectin can soften the stool and work together with dietary fiber to have a laxative effect. The cooked pectin is transformed and not only has the function of absorbing bacteria and toxins, but also has the effects of astringency and antidiarrhea. Specific method of eating: Wash the apples, cut them into small pieces with the skin on (the pectin content near the skin is relatively rich, and the anti-diarrhea effect is better), put them in a bowl, steam them in water for 5 minutes, and eat them after cooling slightly.
