Pregnancy waist pain

Pregnancy waist pain

Pregnancy is a very important thing for women, but it is also a very difficult thing. Because most women will experience many abnormal conditions in their bodies when they are pregnant. The main reason is that when a woman is pregnant, the baby in her belly adds a lot of burden to her body and also causes changes in some hormones in her body. So for pregnant women, what is the reason for pain on the right side of the waist?

Why do pregnant women have back pain?

Low back pain is a common symptom during pregnancy. It usually occurs in early pregnancy and manifests as pain in the lower back. As the fetus develops, the pregnant woman's back pain may become more and more severe. Many women are troubled by this problem during pregnancy. Not only do they suffer, but their families also worry.

Pregnant women are a special group of people whose physical condition changes greatly, which may cause some diseases. Low back pain during pregnancy is a common phenomenon. But the causes of back pain are different at different stages of pregnancy.

1. Early pregnancy

After the fertilized egg implants in the uterus, it may cause uterine contractions, and the hormone secretion in the pregnant woman's body will also change, which can cause lower back pain. Generally, the symptoms are mild without obvious discomfort, so there is no need to worry too much.

2. Mid- to late-pregnancy

As the weight of the fetus and amniotic fluid increases day by day, the pressure on the pregnant woman's lumbar spine also increases, and the body will lean backward. In order to maintain balance, pregnant women's waist muscles need to remain contracted and push backwards. Over time, the tense muscles cannot relax, which naturally causes back pain. This type of low back pain caused by fatigue will gradually recover after sufficient rest or delivery.

3. Lack of exercise

When pregnant women lie in bed all day without paying attention to proper exercise, pelvic congestion may occur, and the abdomen cannot bear the pressure, causing waist discomfort.

4. Excessive fatigue

If pregnant women do not pay attention to rest after pregnancy and overwork, it is easy to cause lumbar muscle injury.

5. Not changing out of high heels in time

Because of the weight of the abdomen, the center of gravity of a pregnant woman moves forward. If you are wearing high heels, in order to maintain balance, you will have to exert more force on your waist, which will put more pressure on your waist muscles, making them more prone to fatigue and soreness.

6. Other reasons

If a pregnant woman suffers from other diseases that cause low back pain, the pain may worsen after delivery.

How to relieve back pain during pregnancy

Pregnant women should make correct judgments based on their actual situation. If the lower back pain is mild, it can be relieved through some methods. If the lower back pain is severe and accompanied by other symptoms, you should seek medical attention in time.

Adjust your posture

1. Sitting posture: First, straighten your body, keep your upper body straight, place your legs vertically and flat on the ground, and try to get close to the back of the chair. You can put a pregnancy pillow under your lower back, or you can put your legs on a bench that is slightly lower than the chair to reduce the pressure of the abdomen on the waist.

Also, be careful not to tense your body too much and keep your shoulders relaxed. Working moms can adjust the height of their desks and chairs while they are working. When you take a break, you can stretch and relax, and don't forget to stand up and walk around.

2. Standing posture: look straight ahead, chin in, chest up and hips in, abdomen slightly moved forward, legs slightly apart. When standing up from a chair, pregnant women should pay attention to straightening their legs first and then standing up slowly to avoid bending over. When walking, the body's center of gravity is placed on the toes, and the toes touch the ground first, followed by the heels. When climbing stairs, pregnant women should also pay attention to keeping their center of gravity forward, straightening their waists, and touching the ground with their toes first. It is recommended to hold the stair handrails.

3. Sleeping position: In the early stages of pregnancy, you can sleep on your back. When lying down, you can put a thin soft cushion behind your waist to relax your waist. In the second and third trimesters of pregnancy (after six months), it is best to sleep on your left side and avoid sleeping on your back. At this time, the pregnant woman's legs can be bent naturally, and a soft cushion can be placed on the lower limbs. The waist muscles will get a rest, which can relieve waist pain. In addition, you should never sleep on your stomach during pregnancy as this will put pressure on the baby in your belly.
