Prescription: Guipi Decoction with modifications.

Commonly used medicines: ginseng, Atractylodes macrocephala, Astragalus membranaceus, Poria cocos, longan meat, Angelica sinensis, Polygala tenuifolia, Ziziphus jujuba seed, costusroot, licorice, ginger, and jujube.

(II) Blood deficiency causes wind

Symptoms: The eyelids twitch constantly or are connected to the eyebrows, forehead, face, and corners of the mouth and cannot be controlled.

Treatment method: Nourish blood and extinguish wind.

Prescription: Danggui Huoxue Yin with modifications.

Commonly used medicines: Angelica root, Chuanxiong, Rehmannia root, White Peony root, Raw Astragalus, Saposhnikovia divaricata, Mentha, Notopterygium wilfordii, Bombyx batryticatus, Gastrodia elata, Uncaria rhynchophylla, Scorpion, and Centipede.

Diagnosis

1. The upper or lower eyelid is pulled and twitched involuntarily, or it reaches the eyebrows or cheeks and cannot be controlled at will.

2. The eyelid skin is normal, without redness or pain, and the eye looks good.

Disease identification

This disease should be differentiated from eye disease. This disease is characterized by frequent twitching of the eyelids and facial skin; while eye disease is characterized by frequent blinking of the eyelids as the main symptom.
