What are the characteristics of menopausal blood?

When women reach around fifty years old, they enter menopause. Sometimes, due to poor psychological adjustment ability, people may suffer from menopausal syndrome during menopause, which is extremely harmful to their lives. And for women, menopause is not the menopause period, so menstruation will still come normally. So from a medical point of view, what are the characteristics of menopausal blood?

Menopausal menstrual disorders can last for 1-3 years

Perimenopause, which we commonly call menopause, refers to the period before and after a woman's menopause. It is a transition stage from fertility to infertility. Generally, one year without menstruation is regarded as the sign of menopause. The age at which perimenopause occurs varies greatly from person to person and is mostly related to genetics. It is generally common between the ages of 40 and 55 and is a physiological change. Some women experience menopause before the age of 40, which is medically known as "premature ovarian failure" and is mostly pathological changes.

Li, as women age, their ovarian function gradually declines, and estrogen fluctuates greatly, which begins to manifest as a shortened menstrual cycle to 24-25 days. Li Lin said that after entering the perimenopause period, regular cyclical ovulation is gradually replaced by anovulatory menstrual cycles, and various types of menstrual disorders may occur until complete menopause.

This stage is usually 1-3 years, and is mainly manifested in the following three ways:

① Oligomenorrhea: The menstrual cycle is prolonged, and the interval between two menstruations is changed from the original 30 days to 2-3 months, and gradually extended to more than 4-6 months until complete menopause.

② Menstrual disorders: The regular menstrual cycle becomes irregular vaginal bleeding, which can range from 15 to 60 days. Sometimes the menstrual period is prolonged, with continuous small amounts of vaginal bleeding, which can last for more than 1 month. Some women may experience long-term heavy vaginal bleeding, and in severe cases, they may develop anemia, which is called "dysfunctional uterine bleeding."

③Sudden menopause: For a few women, the menstrual flow decreases only a few times, and then the menstruation stops suddenly.
