Should there be a lump in the breast?

The breast is a female's most characteristic organ. With the increase in the number of patients with various breast diseases in recent years, people have paid more and more attention to breast health. The most common of these are various breast nodules. Many people do not take it seriously in the early stages of discovery. Finally, when the nodules worsen and form tumors, it brings great pain to the patients. However, we can also feel lumps in normal, disease-free breasts. So, should there be lumps in the breasts?

Normal breasts are soft, while breast lumps are abnormal breast lesions, which are divided into benign and malignant tumors, breast hyperplasia, and breast fibroids. If the lump grows too fast, you should pay attention to it. It is recommended that you go to the hospital for a breast ultrasound examination and a pathological examination if necessary.

There are two possible reasons for having a lump in your breast:

1. Breast hyperplasia generally does not require treatment. The most prominent feature is that it is cyclical. It often occurs or worsens before menstruation, and the pain is significantly reduced or disappears after menstruation. This disease can occur in all age groups, but it is most common in people aged 25-45. The lumps are often multiple and can be seen on one side or both sides. They can be limited to a part of the breast or scattered throughout the breast. The lumps are nodular, of varying sizes, tough and cystic, with no adhesion to the skin and deep tissues and can be pushed. Breast pain is related to mood and fatigue.

2. Fibroids: Breast fibroids are the most common benign tumors in adolescent females. Those who have recurred and recurred should be highly alert because they have a high chance of becoming malignant. Clinically, they often have the following characteristics: they are more common in women aged 15-25 with strong sexual function; they are more likely to occur in the upper outer quadrant of the breast, about 75% are single, and a few are multiple; the biggest characteristic is that patients often have no symptoms, and they are often found accidentally or while taking a bath. They are movable, smooth, clearly defined, and hard tumors that are the size of peanuts or jujubes; there is generally no enlarged axillary lymph nodes, no nipple discharge, and the size of the tumor has no effect on the menstrual cycle. Guidance: If you can move back and forth when you press it with your hand, and it doesn't hurt, then it is very likely a fibroid. It is recommended that you go to the hospital for a color Doppler ultrasound to find out. Most of them are benign, so don't have a psychological burden.
