Reasons why women in their forties gain weight

Women are prone to gain weight when they are around 40 years old, which is middle age. This may be due to some physiological factors, such as slow metabolism and reduced calorie consumption leading to fat accumulation. It may also be caused by women’s improper lifestyle or diet. But no matter what the cause of obesity is, it can be prevented and reduced through certain methods.

1. Physiological factors

The reason why middle-aged women gain weight is largely due to physiological factors. When people reach the extreme of 30 to 35 years old, various organs of the body are on the decline. At this time, metabolism and body calorie consumption are slowly decreasing, leading to fat accumulation, especially in the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs.

2. Dietary factors

I believe that many housewives have a worry, that is, they can only eat after their children have finished their meals. At this time, the time becomes very late, and the body's consumption becomes very low, so losing weight becomes a huge problem.

Secondly, many frugal middle-aged women like to eat up the food that their children have not finished, which will lead to their intake of more food, and this is also one of the main reasons for weight gain.

3. Psychological Factors

Middle-aged women tend to feel very comfortable. Most of them are relaxed, and over time, they are prone to mental fatigue and relax the strict requirements on their figure before marriage. This is also one of the main reasons for weight gain.

4. Reduced physical activity

As they grow older, the lives of middle-aged women tend to be stable. At this time, their mental stress is greatly relaxed, so they eat more and enjoy their food. Invisibly, their intake exceeds the required amount, which will cause obesity over time.

5. Changes in estrogen production

When girls are young, estrogen is an activator of fat storage in the hips, thighs and buttocks. The purpose of fat accumulation is mainly for future breastfeeding. During menopause, estrogen levels become unstable, peaking and then declining, and fat deposits shift to the abdomen. These soft and fluffy fats outside the abdominal muscles not only give you an extra layer of fat, but are also a major health risk. According to research, people with abdominal obesity have a higher incidence of cardiovascular disease, which is much higher than those with standard body shapes or those with obesity in other parts of the body.
