Why can't you touch cold water during menstruation?

Menstruation is a normal physiological phenomenon for women. During menstruation, women's body resistance is relatively weak, so they need to pay attention to many things. Generally speaking, we all know that women cannot touch cold water or eat cold food during menstruation. This is understandable in winter, but in summer, not using cool water will make many people uncomfortable. So, why can’t you touch cold water during menstruation? Let’s take a closer look at the reasons below.

Women who are menstruating should not touch cold water because if they touch cold water during this period, it will cause irregular menstruation. What is more serious is that it will cause many sequelae. Therefore, women must pay attention to protecting themselves during this period. In order to prevent female arthritis and gynecological diseases, women (especially those who are pregnant, postpartum, and menstruating) should try to avoid cold water stimulation. Those who have the conditions should use hot water for housework such as washing clothes, cooking, and cleaning.

Women should also pay attention to the following points during menstruation:

1. Wearing tight pants: If you wear tight pants with a small crotch and small hip circumference during menstruation, the local capillaries will be compressed, thereby affecting blood circulation and increasing perineal friction. It is easy to cause perineal congestion and edema, and even cause diseases such as urinary and reproductive system infections.

2. Malnutrition: Because a certain amount of blood is lost every month after menstruation, it is necessary to increase nutrition appropriately, such as protein, vitamins, iron, calcium, etc. During menstruation, you should eat more eggs, lean meat, fish, soy products, fresh vegetables and fruits, etc. It is not advisable to overeat or have a certain food preference. If you eat too much spicy and yang-enhancing food, it may lead to early menstruation, menorrhagia, etc.; eating too much cold and raw food may cause dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, and leucorrhea.

3. Emotional excitement: During menstruation, you should keep a happy mood as usual, prevent mood swings, don’t get excited when things happen, and it is extremely important to maintain a stable mood. For example, emotional excitement, depression and anger often cause qi stagnation, which in turn leads to late menstruation, dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, etc.

Friendly reminder: Female friends should avoid touching cold water during menstruation, as it can lead to serious consequences. At the same time, we should also pay attention to our daily hygiene habits and personal cleanliness. This can prevent a lot of inflammation from occurring.
