How to remove obstetric scars?

More and more women choose to give birth by cesarean section. This way of giving birth has obvious advantages and disadvantages. The biggest advantage is that it can reduce damage to the vagina and will not affect the quality of the couple's future sex life. The biggest disadvantage is that it is easy to leave scars on the belly. Scars on the belly can make postpartum women very distressed, and in severe cases can affect women's psychology. So what are the current methods to remove cesarean section scars?

How to remove cesarean section scars?

Determine the cause of scarring.

The incision for caesarean section is usually more than ten centimeters long and is a cross-section, so we will use the cross-section to explain it.

Scar hyperplasia is usually a part of the incision. First observe the hyperplastic part:

Is the color red?

Use clean fingers to touch it gently. Is it smooth? Are there any small bumps?

When you press lightly with clean fingers, does it feel hard but slightly springy, or soft?

Does it itch? Does it hurt?

If it is light red in color, relatively smooth, slightly hard and feels like bones, it is the hyperplasia of connective tissue and is generally not a problem.

The color is bright red or purple-blue, there are many rash-like protrusions, it feels soft and swollen or congested, and it is extremely itchy. If you have the above symptoms, it is recommended to go to the hospital and ask a specialist doctor for diagnosis to avoid delaying the disease.

Choose appropriate clothing.

Caesarean section scars are longer, the internal trauma is deeper, and more layers of skin need to be healed. In addition, the pregnancy and delivery period is a special period with significant changes in endocrine hormones, making the skin and body more sensitive than usual.

It is recommended to choose slightly loose and suitable clothing, and choose 100% cotton or silk materials close to the skin, especially the wound (try to avoid polyester, spandex, cashmere, wool, etc.). Please refer to the washing label for the ingredients of clothing fabrics.

Here is a trick: if it is difficult to choose clothes of suitable material, prepare a few pieces of cloth of suitable material and wrap them around your waist, 1-2 layers will be enough, and then put on your own clothes on the outside.

Avoid external stimulation.

In order to regain their figure, some mothers start exercising, such as doing yoga and fitness, before the wound is completely healed. This can easily cause the wound to reopen. This is because cesarean section is different from other surgical operations. There are many layers of skin that heal. Although the wound on the surface of the abdomen has healed, the inside is still relatively fragile and can easily reopen, forming subcutaneous hyperplasia.

Exercise should be gentle and soothing, with waist and abdominal movements, and try to avoid excessive stretching.

Keep it clean.

The method of cleaning cesarean section scars is very important. It is inconvenient for the mother to take a bath, but she should also pay attention to keeping the wound area moisturized and dry. However, it is best not to wash it directly with water in the early stage. Instead, use a medical cotton ball dipped in warm water and squeeze out the water, gently wipe the scar area, then clean the area around the scar, and then throw it away (first the scar and then the surrounding area. Note that after wiping the skin around the scar with the cotton ball, you can no longer wipe the scar to prevent infection).
