What should I do if I fall during late pregnancy?

The late stage of pregnancy is a very important stage for pregnant women. At this time, the fetus in the pregnant woman's belly is basically fully developed, and the amniotic fluid may rupture and labor may occur at any time. Therefore, pregnant women should pay attention to their physical condition and need someone to stay by their side in case of special circumstances. For pregnant women, walking slowly in the late pregnancy is a good form of exercise. However, sometimes they fall. What should they do?

What to do if you fall during late pregnancy

1. Observe whether there are any bleeding symptoms. If there is only a light streak of blood and the amount is not large, you can observe at home

2. Observe whether there is water breaking. If amniotic fluid is flowing out, if it breaks suddenly and the rupture is large, the expectant mother will feel a sudden flow of liquid from the vagina, which will continue afterwards. Standing up or exerting downward force (such as coughing) will cause more liquid to flow out. If the tear is small, small amounts of liquid may frequently flow out, soaking the underwear. If the amniotic membrane ruptures during pregnancy, you should lie down immediately and rush to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment.

3. Observe whether there are uterine contractions. If the contractions are accompanied by severe abdominal pain, such as pain that makes you restless and your work and life are affected, you need to go to the hospital for treatment.

Precautions for nursing care in late pregnancy

1. Maintain a correct posture for activities: When walking daily, you should raise your head, straighten your back, stretch your neck, tighten your buttocks, maintain whole body balance, and walk steadily; when sitting down, it is best to choose a straight-back chair (do not sit on a low sofa), first keep your back straight, use the strength of your leg muscles to support your body to sit down, so that your back and buttocks can comfortably lean against the back of the chair, and your feet are flat on the ground; when standing up, first move your upper body forward to the front edge of the chair, then support your hands on the table, and use your leg muscles to support and lift your body, so that your back always remains straight to prevent your body from tilting forward and pulling your back muscles; when standing, the back should be stretched and straight, so that the weight of the fetus is concentrated on the muscles of the thighs, buttocks, and abdomen, and supported by these parts, which can prevent back pain.

2. Maintain a correct sleeping posture: Sleeping posture often affects the quality of sleep, especially in the late pregnancy. Avoid lying on your back for a long time to prevent the enlarged uterus from compressing the inferior vena cava and affecting the development of the fetus. Lying on the left side is the best sleeping position for expectant mothers. When expectant mothers get up, they should do it slowly and orderly to avoid tensing the abdominal muscles. If you wake up and find that you were sleeping on your back, first turn your body to your side in bed, lean your shoulders forward and bend your knees, then use your elbows and arms to support your body, move to the edge of the bed and sit up.
