How to do a vaginal ultrasound during pregnancy?

Pregnancy is the biggest event in a woman's life because it symbolizes the arrival of new life. At this time, women should strengthen their physical health management, promptly check some parts that are prone to disease, and eliminate the risk of disease. For example, vaginal examination is a must-do examination part for women, and vaginal ultrasound examination is a necessary process for discovering diseases of the female reproductive system. However, it is not so simple for pregnant women to do vaginal ultrasound examination. Vaginal ultrasound examination must take into account the development of the fetus and must be performed with caution. Let’s take a look at how to do a vaginal ultrasound during pregnancy.

Vaginal ultrasound is the abbreviation of vaginal B-ultrasound, also known as intracavitary B-ultrasound. It is a method of ultrasonic diagnosis by inserting the B-ultrasound probe into the vagina or rectum. It is particularly suitable for observing pelvic organs in the small pelvis. Compared with abdominal B-ultrasound, vaginal ultrasound images are clearer and more realistic, the results are more accurate, and the person being examined does not have to "hold urine".

benefit:

Vaginal ultrasound is particularly suitable for ovulation monitoring, diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy, uterine space-occupying diseases, and diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome and chocolate cysts. For those who have had sexual intercourse, a vaginal examination can be performed, and for virgins, a rectal ultrasound examination can be performed.

Indications:

1. Sonographic manifestations of the endometrium during a normal menstrual cycle and the mature and immature follicles in normal ovaries (the so-called "ovulation detection").

2. Benign uterine tumors.

3. Uterine malignant tumor.

4. Non-neoplastic ovarian cysts.

5. Ovarian tumor.

6. Make a clear diagnosis of early pregnancy as early as possible.

7. Abnormal early pregnancy, especially ectopic pregnancy (also known as "ectopic pregnancy"), is a clinical emergency and may lead to death if not promptly treated.

Inspection method:

1. It is usually performed after a routine gynecological examination.

2. Ask the patient to urinate and take the lithotomy position.

3. Cover the vaginal probe with a disposable condom and apply disinfectant coupling agent inside and outside the condom.

4. The operator wears gloves, holds the probe handle with his right hand, and slowly inserts the probe into the vaginal vault.

5. Tilt, push, pull, and rotate the probe handle during operation to observe the entire pelvic structure.

6. The patient needs to lie flat on the bed, relax the body and don't be nervous. Excessive nervousness will affect the examination results.
