Will there be more vaginal discharge if menstruation is coming soon?

Girls go through these few days every month, and some girls will notice it before their period is about to come. For example, stomachache, back pain, or lower abdominal discomfort. Some people also say that their leucorrhea will increase significantly before menstruation. This is due to the influence of hormones, and the amount of leucorrhea will increase before menstruation. If the amount of vaginal discharge increases significantly, you should first consider whether you have a gynecological disease, and observe the color of the vaginal discharge.

Leucorrhea changes with the menstrual cycle. Generally, the secretion of estrogen reaches its peak between two menstruations (equivalent to the ovulation period). Excessive estrogen stimulates the cervical glands to secrete more mucus, so the amount of leucorrhea at this time is large and transparent, like egg white, with stickiness and can be pulled into threads, and the vulva feels moist. After the ovulation of the follicle, progesterone increases and inhibits the secretion of cervical mucus. At this time, the amount of leucorrhea is small and thick. In the days before and after the menstrual period, due to the increase of pelvic congestion, the vaginal exudate increases and the leucorrhea is slightly more because it contains more exfoliated cells, so the leucorrhea is turbid. In addition, the leucorrhea also increases during sexual excitement and after sexual intercourse after pregnancy.

If your menstrual cycle is regular, then if you do not sleep well for a long time, or use drugs to stimulate your period, it will cause endocrine disorders and affect your menstrual cycle. You now need further monitoring to see if you are pregnant. If you are not pregnant, it is recommended that you do a B-ultrasound to check the thickness of the endometrium. Because the body's estrogen secretion increases before and after menstruation, there will be an increase in leucorrhea, which is a normal phenomenon. It is recommended that you insist on cleaning the vulva every day, and conduct timely tests to rule out delayed menstrual cycles caused by pregnancy. If you do not have menstruation for a long time, monitor the thickness of the endometrium in time, and take progesterone under the guidance of a doctor to regulate the menstrual cycle.

At the time of menarche, you will find that the amount of vaginal discharge has increased significantly, and it will be accompanied by general weakness. However, you should know that this is not a disease, but a normal phenomenon caused by the influence of estrogen. After puberty, the ovarian function will gradually become more mature. Then, under the influence of ovarian endocrine, the vaginal epithelial cells will be regularly regenerated and shed, so that a small amount of fluid will seep out of the vaginal wall. Normal leucorrhea is egg white-like, transparent and has no odor.

Because the pelvic cavity will be congested before the menstruation, and the blood flow in the cervix and vagina will increase, the secretion of leucorrhea will be more than usual, and it may even be a little pink in color. Later, it will slowly turn red and become menstruation.

The above are all normal phenomena, but if you find that the leucorrhea is yellow and has a strong odor, you need to go to the hospital to check whether it is a gynecological problem.
