Excessive sweating while awake is called "spontaneous sweating". Under normal circumstances, the human body will sweat due to high temperature, strenuous exercise, wearing too thick clothes and blankets, emotional excitement, etc., and people will also sweat a lot when they are sick or have a fever. In order to eliminate the excess water accumulated in the body during pregnancy, the mother will sweat a lot within 2-3 days after delivery, and the sweating will gradually decrease afterwards. This is a normal phenomenon. If a woman sweats too much or for too long, and mainly sweats while awake, Chinese medicine calls it postpartum spontaneous sweating.

Excessive sweating during sleep is called "night sweats". Sweating a lot after falling asleep and stopping after waking up is called night sweats in traditional Chinese medicine. Many symptoms of night sweats are that you start sweating as soon as you fall asleep, but the sweat stops as soon as you wake up or open your eyes.

Two types of women who sweat easily after childbirth

1. Postpartum women with Qi deficiency: They are generally afraid of wind and cold, especially after sweating, and often catch colds. They often feel dizzy, tired and weak, and short of breath. Pregnant women with Qi deficiency are more likely to experience spontaneous sweating.

2. Postpartum women with Yin deficiency: Although they are generally afraid of wind, they dislike heat even more. They feel hot all over their body, in the soles of their hands and feet, and tend to feel dizzy, anxious, irritable, etc. Pregnant women with Yin deficiency are more likely to experience night sweats.

Diet therapy for regulating sweat in pregnant women with qi deficiency

1. Mutton and Astragalus Soup

Ingredients: 90 grams of mutton, 15 grams of astragalus, 10 grams of longan meat, and 15 grams of Chinese yam.

Preparation method: Slice the mutton, put it into boiling water and cook for a while, then take it out and soak it in cold water to remove the mutton smell. Put the three herbs into a casserole, add cold water and bring to a boil, then add the mutton and cook the soup. You can add a little seasoning for flavoring, take one dose every two days, drink the soup and eat the meat.

2. Stewed Pig Heart with Dangqi and Five Flavors

Ingredients: 12 grams of Codonopsis pilosula, 12 grams of Astragalus membranaceus, 9 grams of Schisandra chinensis, and 1 pig heart.

Preparation method: Put the ingredients in a large bowl and add appropriate amount of water, simmer for 1 hour, eat the meat and drink the soup, eat once every other day.

3. Loach antiperspirant drink

Ingredients: 90 grams of loach, 30 grams of glutinous rice roots (available at pharmacies).

Preparation method: Kill and clean the loach, and fry it in cooking oil until golden brown. First, boil two bowls of water with glutinous rice roots. When the water boils down to 1 bowl of soup, add loach to make soup. Adjust the seasoning when eating and eat the fish and soup together. Take it once every other day, 7 times constitute a course of treatment.
