Leucorrhea is a secretion that every healthy woman has. It is secreted by the vaginal mucosa and is a mixture of secretions from the cervical canal and endometrial glands. Leucorrhea is related to the action of estrogen. Leucorrhea changes with the menstrual cycle. Leucorrhea is an egg white-like liquid, colorless and odorless. If there is too much leucorrhea, it is abnormal. What causes excessive leucorrhea? Let’s take a look at it next. 1. What’s the matter with excessive vaginal discharge? Leucorrhea is a secretion from women's vagina, which keeps the vaginal mucosa and vulva moist. Abnormal leucorrhea is generally the most common manifestation of gynecological inflammation and can be the earliest response to gynecological inflammation. Increased leucorrhea is a manifestation of abnormal leucorrhea. It is recommended to go to the hospital for a routine leucorrhea examination, find out the cause and actively treat it. 2. Leucorrhea Leucorrhea is a female vaginal discharge, which is a mixture of vaginal mucosal exudates, cervical canal and endometrial gland secretions. Its formation is related to the action of estrogen. Under normal circumstances, the quality and quantity of leucorrhea changes with the menstrual cycle. After the menstruation is over, the leucorrhea is less in amount, white in color and in a paste form. In the middle of the menstrual cycle when the ovaries are about to ovulate, due to the vigorous secretion of the cervical glands, the leucorrhea increases and becomes transparent and slightly sticky like egg white. 2 to 3 days after ovulation, the leucorrhea becomes turbid, thick and sticky but with less amount. Before and after menstruation, due to pelvic congestion, vaginal mucosal exudate increases and leucorrhea often increases. 3. Leucorrhea classification 1. Physiological leucorrhea Normal leucorrhea is white, paste-like or egg white-like, sticky, has no fishy smell, and is in small amount. It is called physiological leucorrhea. Due to the action of the pelvic floor muscles, the female vaginal opening is closed and the front and back walls are tightly attached. The moisture in the leucorrhea keeps the female vagina moist. This moist environment can reduce the friction between the front and back walls of the vagina and protect the vaginal walls from damage. At the same time, this moist state makes women's vagina lubricated and elastic, which is beneficial to improving the quality of sexual life. 2. Pathological leucorrhea In reproductive tract inflammation such as vaginitis and acute cervicitis, the amount of leucorrhea increases significantly and the properties change, which is called pathological leucorrhea. |
