What to do if your breast skin is itchy

What to do if your breast skin is itchy

Breasts play a crucial role in life. Not only do they serve as an important organ for breastfeeding, they can also highlight women's secondary sexual characteristics. This is something that women should be confident about. However, breasts are prone to itching at ordinary times, which may be related to underwear and clothes. In addition, changes in the breasts should be observed.

Most nipple itching is related to clothes and underwear, such as fabric fiber allergies or being too tight and poorly breathable, especially when living in a hot and humid environment. Sometimes some perfumes or ointments can also cause itching. Sometimes itchy nipples are related to changing hormone levels. Although breast tenderness before menstruation is common, some women also experience itchy nipples. These conditions often affect both breasts or nipples. The above reasons are generally not serious and will improve after changing clothes, bathing or menstruation.

Other causes of breast itching that need to be taken seriously include:

1. Breast fungal infection often occurs under or on the sides of the breast.

2. Skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, urticaria, and sometimes chest acne can also cause itching.

3. Sunburn can also cause redness and itching of the skin.

4. Breastfeeding women may develop mastitis, which initially manifests as itching, accompanied by mild pain and nipple cracking.

5. Breast itching accompanied by nipple discharge and/or a fixed breast lump may indicate breast cancer.

6. Breast skin trauma can also cause itching, such as itching caused by minor skin damage caused by scratches by nails.

7. Postoperative itching, such as breast surgery or breast lift, can also cause breast itching. The enlarged breasts cause skin traction and cause itching.

8. Certain medications can also cause breast itching.
