Symptoms of lovesickness in women

When it comes to love, many people have unrequited love, that is, secret love, and some may even develop lovesickness. What are the symptoms of lovesickness in women? It is actually very painful for such women. When a woman suffers from lovesickness, she may think of her partner every day, affecting her normal life and work, and it is difficult to get over it. Knowing that it is wrong but still continuing with it is harmful to women.

There are several common types of lovesickness:

The first kind of lovesickness is one-way, that is, unrequited love. For example, Yu Sanjie in Dream of the Red Chamber, when Jia Lian forced her to get married, she had no choice but to tell him that the person she loved was Liu Xianglian. However, since she had never confessed her love to him, the other party had no chance to get close to her and understand her. In the end, Liu Xianglian resolutely rejected her pure love based on the rumor that "the Jia Mansion is clean except for the two stone lions in front of the gate!", forcing her to commit suicide to show her determination. Liu Xianglian became a monk and traveled far away because of self-blame.

The second type of lovesickness is two-way, but if this kind of lovesickness is tinged with paranoia, it will also cause harm to both parties. The love story of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai belongs to this type. Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai loved each other, but were opposed by Zhu Yingtai's parents. Liang Shanbo suffered from psychosomatic illness due to lack of love and died of depression. Zhu Yingtai also committed suicide for love.

The third type of lovesickness is the opposite. This condition is actually a mental illness. The patient often firmly believes that a person of the opposite sex has fallen in love with him (her), even though they may not have said a word. Patients often have specious explanations for this, such as believing that someone is destroying their love and wants to break them up. This is called erotomania in psychiatry.

In the first two cases, the patient's words and behaviors can often be understood by people around them. Their problems are mainly psychological and require systematic psychotherapy to enable them to have a calm understanding of emotions and the objective world. The latter situation is a mental illness that requires treatment with psychiatric drugs and later psychotherapy to improve their understanding of the problem.
