Eight months pregnant, stomach pain on the right side

We all know that the most obvious feature of a pregnant mother's pregnancy is that her belly will gradually grow bigger, and as the baby grows, the pregnant mother can clearly feel the movement of the baby in her belly. But apart from the pain caused by the baby kicking the mother's belly, the belly usually does not hurt, especially when the mother reaches 8 months of pregnancy, when all indicators of the pregnant mother have stabilized. So, why does the right side of the belly hurt when the mother is 8 months pregnant?

1. Physiological abdominal pain is normal

A pregnant woman who is 8 months pregnant has entered the late stage of pregnancy. If she experiences abdominal pain at this time, don't worry too much. Because abdominal pain in late pregnancy includes two types: physiological abdominal pain and pathological abdominal pain. Among them, physiological abdominal pain is a normal phenomenon. This is because as the baby grows, the expectant mother's uterus is also gradually enlarged. The enlarged uterus constantly stimulates the lower edge of the ribs, which can cause dull pain in the expectant mother's ribs. Generally speaking, this is physiological and does not require special treatment. The pain can be relieved by lying on the left side.

2. Pathological abdominal pain should be treated promptly

Pathological abdominal pain is most likely caused by placental abruption, which often occurs in the late pregnancy because the expectant mother may have pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome, chronic hypertension, and abdominal trauma during this period. The typical symptom is tearing pain in the lower abdomen, often accompanied by vaginal bleeding. The degree of abdominal pain is affected by a combination of factors such as the size of the abruption area, the amount of blood, the internal pressure of the uterus, and whether the uterine muscle layer is damaged. In severe cases, the abdominal pain is unbearable, the abdomen becomes hard, the fetal movement disappears, and even shock may occur. Therefore, in the late stages of pregnancy, expectant mothers with high blood pressure or abdominal trauma should go to the hospital in time to prevent accidents.

3. If you have persistent severe pain in your lower abdomen, seek medical attention immediately

In addition, if the expectant mother suddenly feels persistent severe pain in the lower abdomen, it is likely to be premature birth or uterine rupture. If this is the case, you must go to the hospital immediately and do not delay.
