Is your menstrual period regular?

Is your menstrual period regular?

With the development of puberty, girls will have menstruation in their teens. When they start menstruating, it is not normal menstruation. There will just be bleeding and spotting. Some will last for seven days, and then there will be no menstruation for several months. There is no regularity in the first menstruation, and it takes a long time to become regular.

1. Normal Phenomenon of Puberty

When a girl reaches menarche, her physiological functions are not yet complete and her ovaries are immature. In the early stages, her menstrual cycle may last for more than half a year, which is a normal physiological phenomenon. This situation will usually be resolved within 1 to 2 years, forming a stable menstrual cycle.

2. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Menstrual irregularities or even amenorrhea are typical manifestations of polycystic ovary syndrome, which often occurs in women of childbearing age. However, many patients already have symptoms during puberty, including amenorrhea, accompanied by metabolic disorders, weight gain, increased body hair, acne, etc. This disease is an endocrine disorder. Excessive fat may also induce amenorrhea, so this disease is more common in obese women.

3. Chronic disease involvement

Experts say that chronic diseases such as anemia, tuberculosis, nephritis, diabetes and other diseases that are accompanied throughout the year, in addition to endangering physical health, can also lead to irregular menstruation or amenorrhea.

4. Ovarian hypoplasia

The health of the ovaries is also directly related to women's menstrual conditions. Ovarian hypoplasia or ovarian lesions during adolescence may cause amenorrhea.

5. The role of mental stress

Experts say that the ovarian function and ovulation mechanism of adolescents are not yet perfect. Coupled with high study pressure and high mental stress, it is easy to cause ovarian dysfunction, abnormal sex hormone secretion, irregular bleeding, and may induce amenorrhea if not paid attention to.

Doctors remind that amenorrhea is not only experienced by adult women. Adolescent girls may also suffer from amenorrhea due to imperfect ovarian function, blind weight loss, and unrestrained overeating. If the problem is not discovered in time and not treated correctly, it may affect future fertility.
