5 months pregnant belly bloating

5 months pregnant belly bloating

The biggest change for women after pregnancy is the bulge of the abdomen. As the months go by, the belly becomes bigger and bigger, and pregnancy becomes a permanent condition. During pregnancy, pregnant women will be very different from before. Some will be more picky about food, and no longer like the foods they used to like after becoming pregnant; some women will easily experience bloating in the stomach after 5 months, which makes them very uncomfortable. So why does the stomach bloat after 5 months of pregnancy? How to relieve it?

1. There are many reasons for abdominal distension during pregnancy. In the early stages of pregnancy, the production of progesterone will relax the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract and weaken the peristalsis, making it easy for the acidic gastric contents to reflux to the lower esophagus. In addition, the time for gastric emptying is prolonged. When food stays in the intestines for a longer time, it will spoil and ferment under the action of bacteria, which will produce a large amount of gas, causing pregnant women to feel full.

2. As the fetus continues to grow, the burden on the expectant mother's abdomen and body gradually increases, and the frequency of abdominal pain will increase significantly compared to the early pregnancy. As the baby grows, the expectant mother's uterus also gradually expands. The enlarged uterus constantly stimulates the lower edge of the ribs, which can cause dull rib pain in expectant mothers. Generally speaking, this is physiological and does not require special treatment. Lying on the left side can help relieve pain.

3. Expectant mothers are more likely to experience abdominal distension due to decreased gastrointestinal function during pregnancy. If you feel bloated after eating too much, it is recommended that you eat small meals frequently. As long as your stomach does not hurt, it will be fine. This is usually the case during pregnancy. Just don't eat too much and keep up with the nutrition and calcium, which is good for the baby. You can eat some apples, which will help with digestion and is also good for the baby's skin. Just walk around and drink some water.
