What causes thickening of the fallopian tubes?

As we all know, the necessary condition for pregnancy is the combination of sperm and egg. If the man only provides sperm and the female body does not have an egg to combine with it, pregnancy will probably become quite difficult. In life, some women do encounter such situations, most of the time they are related to fallopian tube abnormalities. So clinically, what exactly causes the so-called fallopian tube thickening?

What does thickening of a woman's fallopian tubes mean? Experts say that thickening of the fallopian tubes is a relatively special condition, which may be caused by adhesions, blockages or water accumulation in the fallopian tubes. It is important to know that the thickening of the fallopian tubes may cause female infertility, but at the same time, you can rest assured that it is not an incurable disease. Therefore, it is important to understand the causes and treatments of fallopian tube thickening in a timely manner.

Experts say: Salpingitis is a common cause of fallopian tube thickening. Chronic interstitial salpingitis is a chronic inflammatory lesion left over from acute interstitial salpingitis, which often coexists with chronic oophoritis. Thickening and fibrosis of the fallopian tubes can be seen on both sides, and small purulent foci may remain in the muscular layer and under the peritoneum. The clinical manifestations are thickening of the adnexa or cord-like thickening. In addition, a type of isthmic nodular salpingitis may develop, which is a large remnant of chronic inflammatory lesions of the fallopian tube, similar to a small fibrous tumor of the uterine cornu. Microscopic examination showed abnormal thickening of the myometrium, and the luminal endometrial folds could be rolled into the myometrium, resembling endometriosis, which could be distinguished by the lack of endometrial stroma. Infiltration of lymphocytes and plasma cells could be seen in some myometrium.

Experts remind: If a woman experiences thickening of the fallopian tubes, she must go to a regular hospital for examination and treatment in time to recover her health as soon as possible and avoid infertility.
