The Streptococcus agalactiae test, commonly known as the GBS test, is conducted by using a sterile cotton swab to take samples from the female vagina and around the anus to test whether GBS is positive. GBS pregnancy testing requires collecting vaginal swabs and duodenal swabs from the female after 35 weeks of pregnancy for testing. Streptococcus agalactiae is a type of bacterium that parasitizes the vagina and duodenum. The pathogen is generally not easy to cause disease, but if some pregnant women have low resistance and poor immunity, Streptococcus agalactiae will multiply in large numbers.
