Sexual knowledge for pregnant women

Generally speaking, if women have sexual intercourse during pregnancy, it will cause great danger to the fetus. Miscarriage is more likely in the first two or three months after pregnancy, and premature birth is more likely in the next two or three months. Having sex during the rest of the time will not have much impact on the fetus. During sexual intercourse between couples, if the woman is pregnant, the man's movements should be smoother and slower. Couples can choose some suitable postures that will not put pressure on the baby in the abdomen. Pregnant women should stop having sex when they are about to give birth.

There is no strict limit on when to stop sexual intercourse during the entire pregnancy. But generally speaking, in the early pregnancy, which refers to the first three months of pregnancy, the embryo is still developing and the placenta has not yet fully developed. In this process, miscarriage is prone to occur, so doctors recommend avoiding sexual intercourse as much as possible. In the late pregnancy, which is two or three months close to the expected date of delivery, the pregnant woman's abdomen becomes larger, and sexual intercourse may cause some adverse stimulation to the pregnant woman's abdomen. In addition, premature rupture of membranes and premature birth are very likely to occur in this process, so sexual intercourse should also be avoided. However, there are indeed many couples who have sex throughout the entire pregnancy. Therefore, it depends on the pregnancy situation of the pregnant woman, whether she has a history of recurrent miscarriage, whether there are any signs of threatened miscarriage this pregnancy, her age, and any other complications, or any reproductive tract infection. If none of these are present, it is not absolutely not allowed to have sex at this time, but it is best to avoid it as much as possible. In fact, it does not necessarily have to be completed through contact of sexual organs. Other methods can also be used to complete sexual life and achieve sexual satisfaction.

Precautions for sexual life after pregnancy: Sexual intercourse is prohibited in the first 3 months and the last 2 months of pregnancy. In the early stage of pregnancy, the embryo is in a rapid development stage, and the connection between the fetus and the mother (placenta) is not very strong. Sexual life and other external stimuli can easily induce uterine contraction and lead to miscarriage. In the late pregnancy, especially after 36 weeks of pregnancy, signs of labor may appear at any time. During sexual intercourse, the stimulation of the penis on the cervix and the prostaglandins in the semen cause uterine contraction, which can easily cause premature birth, uterine bleeding or infection (puerperal fever).

Suggestions: Sexual intercourse is allowed during the remaining months of pregnancy, but the frequency and intensity of sexual intercourse should be moderate, preferably within 2 times a week. Before sexual intercourse, local hygiene should be carefully performed to avoid uterine cavity infection caused by sexual intercourse, which will harm the health of the mother and fetus. The sexual intercourse position should be the woman on top, preferably in the front and side position, to avoid direct stimulation of the uterus. During sexual intercourse, the movements should be gentle and slow, rather than violent, to avoid disturbing the "fetal qi" and stimulating the uterus to induce miscarriage or premature birth.
