Girls have pain when pressing below the belly button

There are many possible reasons for a girl's pain when pressing below her belly button. Depending on the characteristics of the pain, such as acute pain or chronic pain, the cause is different. If you feel pain during pregnancy, it may be related to miscarriage. If it is simple pain that occurs frequently, the most likely cause is a gynecological disease. Therefore, it is important to understand the reasons as much as possible. So, why does it hurt when a girl presses below her belly button? Let’s take a look below.

Acute onset

1. Pain below the navel accompanied by vaginal bleeding without amenorrhea is generally related to pathological pregnancy, such as threatened abortion, ectopic pregnancy, etc. Taking ectopic pregnancy as an example, dull pain or distension in the adnexal area can be seen. When ectopic pregnancy occurs miscarriage or ruptures, it will cause intra-abdominal bleeding. If the fallopian tube pregnancy results in miscarriage, the abdominal pain is often limited to one side of the lower abdomen, and because blood accumulates in the lower abdomen, there will be a sense of pain in the anus. When tubal pregnancy ruptures, the amount of bleeding is large and the rate of bleeding is fast, and the blood will quickly spread to the entire abdominal cavity and cause pain throughout the abdomen.

2. Pain and fever below the navel are often related to inflammation, such as acute pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis, fallopian tube-ovarian abscess or acute appendicitis cyst, etc. It can also be seen in red degeneration of uterine fibroids. These are mostly related to infection or caused by inflammatory migration.

3. If there is pain below the navel and a lump, you should consider the possibility of a tumor, such as ovarian tumor or ovarian non-neoplastic cyst torsion or splitting, or uterine subserosal fibroid torsion.

Slow onset

1. Menstrual pain. Dysmenorrhea can be divided into primary and secondary dysmenorrhea. The former is generally related to the prostaglandin levels, coldness, and emotional and psychological factors in adolescent girls. There is usually no organic lesion and it can generally heal itself with age or after marriage and childbirth. Common causes of secondary pain are endometriosis and adenomyosis.

2. Influence of psychological factors. Many teenagers suffer from anxiety-related physical discomfort due to stress from studying, fear of exams, and going to school. Generally, the test results are normal. In this case, the symptoms can be quickly relieved by simply calming down and relaxing.
