How to diagnose fallopian tube tuberculosis?

How to diagnose fallopian tube tuberculosis?

The fallopian tube of women is a very sensitive and very important part. There are many diseases surrounding the fallopian tube, such as the well-known fallopian tube inflammation. In addition, women often become infertile due to fallopian tube blockage. In addition, fallopian tube tuberculosis is also a serious fallopian tube disease. The symptoms of this disease may be somewhat similar to those of other fallopian tube diseases, so you must go to a regular hospital for diagnosis.

How to diagnose fallopian tube tuberculosis?

During the treatment of fallopian tube tuberculosis, routine tests can only serve as a reference. They can prove the presence of tuberculosis infection and active lesions, but cannot determine the location of the lesions. Confirmation requires x-ray, hysterosalpingography, and laparoscopy.

When necessary, patients with fallopian tube tuberculosis should undergo X-ray examination of the digestive tract and urinary system in order to find the primary lesion. If suspicious isolated calcifications are found in the pelvis on an abdominal plain film, this indicates the presence of tuberculosis lesions.

During hysterosalpingography, the narrow parts of the fallopian tubes can be seen. These narrow parts are shaped like beads, but sometimes they are small and rigid. Calcification foci can be seen in the fallopian tubes, and if the endometrium or pelvic cavity is involved, it will also change. Hysterosalpingography is of great significance for the diagnosis of genital tuberculosis.

The diagnosis of fallopian tube tuberculosis can be confirmed through laparoscopy, which can more directly detect pelvic lesions. For example, whether there are miliary nodules attached to the serosa surface of the fallopian tube, whether the fallopian tube is sticky to other surrounding tissues, and whether there is any thickening of the fallopian tube or ovary. During the operation, a small amount of tissue can be directly removed from the lesion site for biopsy, but the operation should be done with caution to avoid damaging the intestine. If the diagnosis still cannot be confirmed, laparotomy should be performed.

What causes fallopian tube tuberculosis?

Pulmonary tuberculosis is probably the most common tuberculosis disease that people hear about, but in fact, humans can get not only pulmonary tuberculosis, but also many other organs. Women may also suffer from fallopian tube tuberculosis. So what is fallopian tube tuberculosis?

When tuberculosis bacteria are carried to the fallopian tubes through the blood and lymph and cause tuberculosis lesions to form in the fallopian tubes, it becomes fallopian tube tuberculosis. Once fallopian tube tuberculosis lesions are formed, they spread to multiple other parts, including the uterus, ovaries, vulva, etc. Generally speaking, as long as a patient has fallopian tube tuberculosis, there will be tuberculosis lesions in both fallopian tubes, so one of the main symptoms of fallopian tube tuberculosis is infertility.

The inflammation caused by tuberculosis bacteria in the fallopian tubes resembles granulomatous tissue, and it causes many types of chronic inflammatory changes, such as ulcers, dry type, miliary nodular type, etc. Mycobacterium tuberculosis is present in all these inflammations, and unique tuberculosis nodule changes can be found through patient examination. Fallopian tube tuberculosis can also cause systemic tuberculosis. Fallopian tube tuberculosis is common in women aged 20 to 40, and a small number of postmenopausal and elderly women will develop fallopian tube tuberculosis. Fallopian tube tuberculosis sometimes has no symptoms, and even if it does, they are non-specific, so we should be vigilant and prevent and treat fallopian tube tuberculosis.
