Will the lower body become loose after a caesarean section?

We know that if a woman's vagina is severely loose, it will reduce the quality of life of the couple. Due to childbirth or trauma, the muscles of the female vagina may be torn or thinned, causing the vagina to become loose. Normally, women who choose natural childbirth often experience vaginal relaxation. So, will women who choose cesarean section also experience vaginal relaxation?

1. Vaginal relaxation and delivery method

There are many reasons for vaginal relaxation after childbirth, including the fetus being too large, causing birth injuries during natural delivery; mid-term induced labor causing vaginal damage; multiple deliveries; lack of exercise after childbirth; blind weight loss during postpartum recovery, etc. For women who have given birth naturally, because the vagina is the channel for the delivery of the fetus, the head of a newborn baby is generally about 10 cm in diameter. After being squeezed by the baby at birth, the vagina expands significantly, the muscles and hymen scars are completely destroyed, and the elasticity is significantly reduced. But it is not only natural childbirth that can cause vaginal relaxation. During labor, the muscles and ligaments of the pelvis will fully extend to prepare the birth canal for the baby's birth. Therefore, even if a cesarean section is performed, vaginal relaxation will occur.

2. Causes of vaginal relaxation

1. Elastic fiber damage

When the female vaginal wall is torn or there is frequent strenuous exercise, during sexual intercourse, childbirth, frequent sexual life, abortion, or medical abortion, the elastic fibers in the vagina are "stretched" again and again, the "vaginal elastic network" is broken, and the vagina is stretched and unable to retract, resulting in "vaginal relaxation."

2. Disease population

People with chronic diseases, weak constitution, and emaciation have looser muscles, fascia, ligaments and other structures, which aggravates vaginal relaxation. As women age, their estrogen levels decrease, causing degeneration of muscles, fascia, ligaments and related supporting structures, aggravating vaginal relaxation.

3. Clinical manifestations

Supporting structures such as fascia undergo degeneration, muscle tension decreases, and mucosa atrophies, making the vagina looser and less elastic. Over time, some women develop urethral or bladder prolapse, leading to stress urinary incontinence (inability to hold urine when sneezing or jumping), difficulty urinating or recurrent urinary tract infections, or constipation due to rectal prolapse.

IV. Treatment

1. Self-therapy

"Contract the anus and lift the breath" method: every morning and evening in a place with fresh air, take a deep breath and hold it. At the same time, contract the anus as if you are holding back a bowel movement or urination, and repeat this more than 100 times. After a certain period of training, the tension of the pelvic muscles will be greatly improved, and the muscles around the vagina will become plump and powerful, and vaginal relaxation can be cured without medication.

2. Vaginal tightening surgery

Vaginal tightening surgery is a gynecological surgery designed to address the above-mentioned physiological changes in women, to improve the quality of sexual life of couples and to treat urethral, bladder and rectal prolapse. Vaginal tightening surgery relieves patients' psychological and physical pain, improves their quality of life, and restores women's self-confidence.
