What to do if a breastfeeding mother has toothache

Breastfeeding mothers are most afraid of getting sick during this period, because once they get sick, it means that it may have adverse effects on the baby's body. However, since the breastfeeding period is the time when mothers are at their weakest, improper care may cause them to suffer from various diseases. For example, toothache during breastfeeding is very troublesome for mothers. There are some folk remedies for toothache that have no side effects. Mothers may wish to try them.

1. What causes toothache during lactation?

1. Gingivitis

It is an inflammation of the gum tissue caused by plaque and tartar. Plaque and tartar can irritate the surrounding gum tissue, causing it to swell and become brittle.

2. Tooth decay

It is what we usually call tooth decay. Tooth decay is caused by a combination of sugary foods and bacteria that live in the mouth. Its pain symptoms are generally cold, hot, sour, and sweet.

3. Pulpitis

Also called dental neuralgia. The pain is spontaneous and usually occurs without any triggering factor. The pain cannot be localized and worsens during sleep at night. The pain can be triggered by cold, heat and other stimuli.

2. What to do if a breastfeeding mother has toothache

1. Garlic tablets for pain relief

Cut the garlic into thin slices and apply it to the pulse point of your wrist. If the toothache is on the left side, apply it to the pulse point of your right wrist. If you have a toothache on the right side, placing it on your left wrist can relieve some of the pain.

2. Rinse your mouth with concentrated salt water

Saturated salt water (take an appropriate amount of water and add salt until it no longer dissolves). Concentrated salt water helps reduce inflammation. You can also dip a cotton swab in concentrated salt water and bite it on the swollen and painful tooth. Don't be afraid of the pain. Hold on for a while and be sure to rinse your mouth with boiled water afterwards.

3. Ice

Applying ice to the cheek closest to the painful area may relieve pain. Apply for 15 minutes each time, at least 3-4 times a day.

4. Ginger slices

Cut the ginger into small slices. When you have a toothache, place a piece on the painful gums. You can reuse the ginger slices. You can even hold it in your mouth while sleeping without worrying about any harm. This is a very effective method.

5. Liquor and salt

Take 100g of ordinary white wine and pour it into a kettle. Add 10g of table salt, stir and wait for the salt to dissolve, then boil the wine on the stove. Hold a mouthful in your mouth for a while, and the toothache will be relieved immediately. However, be careful not to swallow it.

3. Remedies for toothache during lactation

1. Egg white and white wine:

Add an egg white and an equal amount of white wine, mix well, drink a mouthful, hold it in your mouth, and spit it out after 5 minutes. Do this twice a day, and it will reduce inflammation and relieve pain in 2-3 days.

2. Peppercorns and white wine:

10 peppercorns and one or two liang of white wine. Soak the peppercorns in the wine. After ten minutes, hold the wine in your mouth. The effect will be seen in a few minutes. Do it twice a day for 10 minutes each time. You will be cured in 3-4 days.

3. Vinegar and peppercorns:

3 liang of vinegar and 10 peppercorns, soak for 2 days and then hold in mouth, twice a day, 3 minutes each time, use for 5 consecutive days for special effects.
