What does 4D color Doppler ultrasound mean?

After a woman becomes pregnant, in order to be able to understand the health status of the fetus in a timely manner, she will undergo regular prenatal examinations. There are many items in the prenatal examination, such as four-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound, etc. This examination can promptly detect whether the fetus is in breech position, and the accuracy of the four-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound examination is also very high, which is recognized by many pregnant women. So what does the four-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound breech position mean?

First, what does breech presentation mean in four-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound? From a medical point of view, breech presentation means that the fetus's head is on top and the buttocks are on the bottom, that is, close to the lower part of the uterus. If the pregnancy is more than 32 weeks, it is an abnormal fetal position. If the pregnancy is more than 6 months, the fetal position has not yet been fixed, and the fetus has rotated, because the fetus in the uterus is like in a swimming pool. It is recommended to carry out prenatal checkups according to the regulations, lead a regular life, ensure adequate sleep, strengthen nutrition, and eat more protein-rich and iron-rich foods, such as fish, steak, chicken, pork liver, etc. In the late pregnancy, be careful to avoid sexual intercourse and weight bearing to prevent premature birth.

Second, the fetal position refers to the relationship between the designated part of the fetus's presenting part and the front, back, left, and right of the maternal pelvis. The normal fetal position is mostly occiput anterior. After 30 weeks of pregnancy, antenatal examination revealed breech presentation,

Malpositions include transverse position, occiput posterior position, and facial position, among which breech position is the most common. If malposition of the fetus is not corrected, it may cause dystocia during delivery. Fetal breech presentation is one of the common abnormal fetal positions. Breech presentation is more common before 30 weeks of pregnancy and should not be considered abnormal; after 30 weeks, most babies can naturally turn back to the cephalic position, and persistent breech presentation accounts for about 3-4% of the total number of births. Breech delivery is more dangerous to the fetus, and it is easy to cause umbilical cord prolapse, fetal arm lifting, and difficulty in posterior head delivery. Improper handling of breech presentation can easily lead to stillbirth, neonatal asphyxia, intracranial hemorrhage, birth injuries, etc. The perinatal mortality rate is 3-8 times higher than that of the occiput anterior position.

Third, four-dimensional color ultrasound is the most advanced color ultrasound equipment in the world today. It transcends the limitations of traditional ultrasound and can observe the specific conditions of the fetus in the uterine cavity from all directions and angles. It can detect fetal malformations in time and take effective treatment measures in time to avoid unnecessary harm.

What does breech presentation on four-dimensional color ultrasound mean? Four-dimensional color ultrasound can be used to check whether the fetal position is normal. There are many reasons for abnormal fetal position, including premature birth, abnormal placenta, fetal malformation, pelvic stenosis, multiple births, abnormal amniotic fluid, slow fetal growth, umbilical cord is too short, abnormal placenta, uterine malformation and other abnormalities. Once the fetus is found to be abnormal during the examination, the health status of the pregnant woman and the fetus must be checked in detail.
