Can pregnant women use sanitary pads?

In life, everyone knows that women generally have more leucorrhea after pregnancy, so some pregnant mothers like to use sanitary pads. In fact, it is best for pregnant women not to use sanitary pads, because they are not good for the baby. Pregnant mothers can change their underwear frequently every day, wash the vulva with warm water, and then when washing the underwear, it is best to use boiling water. Generally, as long as there is no lesion, pregnant mothers do not need to worry, just ensure daily cleaning.

The harm of using sanitary pads for pregnant women: Sanitary pads may cause inflammation in pregnant women. Many doctors do not recommend women to use sanitary pads. This is mainly because although sanitary pads are highly absorbent, most of them have poor air permeability due to materials such as gelatin. They are not easy to dry after getting wet and are prone to breeding bacteria. Due to the close contact between sanitary pads and women's private parts, contaminated pads can easily cause vaginitis. During pregnancy, pregnant women are more likely to suffer from gynecological infections such as fungal infections due to their own characteristics. If they also frequently use non-breathable sanitary pads, it is more likely to cause vaginal inflammation and harm the fetus. Therefore, pregnant women should not use sanitary pads during pregnancy, let alone pads with fragrance additives.

It is not recommended for pregnant women to use any brand of sanitary pads for a long time, because sanitary pads not only have no ventilation function, but long-term use may cause infection. No panty liner can compare to pure cotton underwear. Instead of using sanitary pads, it is better to buy a few more pure cotton underwear to wear in rotation. You can use it less often in normal times, but not all day long. Generally, it will not harm if you use it for an hour or two when you go out. Pregnant women have a relatively active metabolism, so they must take two baths a day, change their underwear more often, buy two new towels when necessary, and use a different special towel to gently clean the vulva after each use of the toilet. This will prevent vulvar infection from affecting the baby's development.

In short, although sanitary pads can help pregnant mothers maintain personal hygiene to a certain extent, the harm caused in the long run cannot be underestimated, so it is best not to use them if possible, especially for pregnant mothers.
