Reasons why women often feel dizzy

Dizziness, also known as vertigo, can occur on its own or as part of other medical conditions. Dizziness may not be very serious, but it can have a huge impact on your normal life. If a woman often feels dizzy, she should take it seriously. There are many factors in this regard, some of which may be caused by disease. It is necessary to find out the situation as soon as possible so that it can be better solved. So, what is the reason why women often feel dizzy?

1. Side effects of medication

Antidepressants such as ACE inhibitors, a medication for high blood pressure, and amitriptyline can lower blood pressure and induce dizziness. Natasha Stewart, an expert at the British Heart Association, said that some heart patients may become dehydrated and feel dizzy when taking diuretics. Sedatives depress the central nervous system, slowing down brain activity, and are also a major factor causing vertigo.

2. Iron deficiency

Fatigue is the main symptom of anemia. Due to iron deficiency in the body, the red blood cells decrease, the oxygen-carrying capacity of hemoglobin decreases, and the brain does not get enough blood oxygen, which causes dizziness.

3. Migraine

Professor Susan Haydon of the British Migraine Association said that dizziness is often a precursor to a migraine attack, which is caused by the narrowing of blood vessels in the brain and reduced blood flow.

4. Full body scan

MRI scans may also cause vertigo. The body's balance is controlled by the inner ear, and the strong magnetic field produced by an MRI scan can cause an imbalance in the inner ear's balance organs, leading to vertigo.

5. Dehydration

The brain is mostly made up of water. Once the body is dehydrated, the brain will malfunction. Professor Lawrence Armstrong of the University of Connecticut said that when you are dehydrated, your blood viscosity increases, your body temperature rises, and your heart rate increases. Therefore, when you feel dizzy, try drinking a large glass of water.

6. Blood pressure and hypoxia issues

Many cases of dizziness are caused by a sudden drop in blood pressure and a short period of oxygen deprivation to the brain. For example, standing up or getting out of bed suddenly.

7. Swimming

Swimming can easily cause water to enter the ears. Once water enters the ears and affects the inner ear balance organ, vertigo may last for hours or even days until the water in the ears completely dries up. Experts point out that emotional tension before and during swimming can cause a decrease in blood oxygen in the brain, leading to dizziness.

8. Allergies

Allergens such as peanuts, cats, dust, and pollen may also cause vertigo. Dr. Adrian Morris, an expert at the Surrey Allergy Clinic in the UK, said that allergies can cause mucus to form in the sinuses and middle ear, affecting the balance organ in the inner ear and causing dizziness.
