My period lasted for half a month

My period lasted for half a month

As a woman, after bearing the same work pressure, you also have to face your period every month. If you are not careful, your menstruation will become irregular: sometimes early, sometimes late, and the cycle may even be prolonged. In short, there are hundreds of problems, but there are always one or two that bother women. So, if your period lasts for half a month and hasn’t ended yet, what is the cause?

1. Endometriosis: The occurrence of endometriosis will affect the contraction of the uterine muscle layer or the enhancement of the endometrium. The enhancement of the endometrium will lead to a prolonged endometrial shedding time, resulting in excessive menstrual cycles or prolonged menstruation.

2. Placement of an IUD: When an IUD is placed, the endometrium is compressed by the ring, causing inflammatory infiltration of cells, which can easily lead to prolonged menstruation.

3. Uterine leiomyoma: especially submucosal uterine leiomyoma. This is because the area of the uterine cavity is enlarged, leading to abnormal uterine contraction, which may cause excessive menstrual cycles and prolonged menstruation.

4. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding: such as anovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding and irregular endometrial shedding, are both caused by endocrine dysfunction, which leads to a longer menstrual cycle.

5. Chronic uterine hypertrophy: Due to pelvic congestion, ovarian estrogen continues to increase, causing the uterine muscle layer to thicken, forming chronic uterine hypertrophy, causing excessive menstrual cycles and prolonged menstruation.

6. Blood diseases: such as thrombocytopenic purpura, aplastic anemia, etc., are often accompanied by menstrual cycles. If severe uterine bleeding occurs, the menstrual period will be prolonged. Other conditions such as chronic anemia, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, nephritis, etc. can make the blood vessel walls fragile, increase permeability and cause bleeding.

7. Others: Pelvic inflammation, intrauterine polyps, uterine inflammation, etc. are all caused by poor intrauterine blood circulation, degeneration and necrosis, or pelvic congestion, which lead to excessive menstrual cycles and prolonged menstruation.

There are many reasons why your menstrual cycle may be long. It could be endometriosis, it could be the IUD was not placed properly, or it could be a uterine leiomyoma problem. In addition, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, chronic uterine hypertrophy, blood diseases and other diseases may cause long menstrual cycles. If you experience a long menstrual cycle, it is best to go to the hospital for a check-up.
