Can I dye my hair during my period?

Many women love beauty and will perm their hair as they like and dye their hair. Hair dyeing has become more and more popular, but hair should not be dyed frequently because hair dyes contain carcinogens. Frequent hair dyeing will lead to the precipitation of toxins in the human body. Especially women should not dye their hair during their menstrual period or when they are pregnant, because the pores all over the body are open at this time, which is not good for health.

In addition, it is better not to dye your hair right after perming it. Chemical products are used in the perming process, so some adverse reactions may occur. The most common symptoms are that the hair becomes brittle, prone to split ends or breakage. In a very small number of patients, it may cause allergies, redness, swelling, pain, and easy damage to the hair. Therefore, you can choose hair care dye to perm and dye at the same time after perming your hair, which will less damage the hair.

Whether you can dye your hair during your menstrual period depends on the individual because everyone's physical constitution is different. Hair dyeing during menstruation may cause allergic reactions to the chemicals in the dye, resulting in redness, swelling, heat and pain on the scalp. Therefore, the Department of Health requires dye manufacturers and producers to indicate that women who are menstruating, postpartum, sick, recovering from illness, pregnant, preparing to become pregnant, and patients with skin diseases who have injuries to the head, neck, or face are not allowed to use dyes. In addition, patients with special physical conditions, kidney diseases, or a history of blood diseases should not use dyes.

Some ingredients in hair dyes, such as ammonia, hydrogen peroxide, and dyes, are biologically active chemicals. Although the content of these chemicals is not high and will not be fatal, people with skin allergies should still use them with caution. Common symptoms of a reaction are itchy skin, red spots or a rash. Therefore, no matter what kind of hair dye it is, users will be warned to do a skin sensitivity test before use to see if there is any reaction before officially using it.

Before a designer dyes a customer's hair on site, it is best to do an allergy test for the customer. If there are no special conditions, you can apply the dye on the inside of the wrist and wait for 10 minutes. If there is no itching, redness or rash on the skin, you can dye the hair. If you have special conditions such as pregnancy, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc., you must apply dye behind the ears, wait 48 hours (at least 24 hours), and protect your scalp before dyeing your hair.

Especially in autumn and winter, the skin becomes drier due to weather changes. Some consumers do not pay much attention to the care of their facial skin and happen to go to a salon to dye their hair. As a result, the facial skin becomes itchy due to lack of moisture due to the dry weather. At this time, they may feel very uncomfortable, and customers will think that it is a skin allergy caused by hair dyeing. Therefore, allergy testing before dyeing is an indispensable protection for consumers, salons, and designers.

With the evolution of the environment, air, eating habits, junk food, staying up late, etc., people's physique has been changing. Therefore, the allergy test before dyeing is the first step for professional designers when dyeing hair, so it must not be omitted. If the customer has an allergic reaction after dyeing, he or she must go to the hospital for treatment immediately.
