Will there be any breast changes with an ectopic pregnancy?

Some people will worry about whether this disease will have any impact on their breasts after an ectopic pregnancy. In fact, most patients will not experience any bad changes in their breasts even after developing this disease. They will just feel that their nipples are more prominent than before, or the color is darker. There are no other troublesome problems, so as long as you rest assured and receive treatment, you can recover as soon as possible.

The breasts will also react to ectopic pregnancy, mainly due to hormonal changes. The breasts will feel tingling, swelling and itching, which is a physiological phenomenon in early pregnancy. In addition, there will be changes such as darkening of the areola, obvious veins under the skin of the breast, and obvious protrusion of the nipple. The nipple and the surrounding skin become darker in color, and nodules appear around the areola.

⒈Abdominal pain.

⒉ Abnormal bleeding : About 1/4 of patients with ectopic pregnancy still have a small amount of bleeding. Many women mistake it for normal menstruation and delay the diagnosis. Therefore, if the menstrual flow is not large or the menstrual condition is different from before, if there is a possibility of pregnancy, you should do a pregnancy test by yourself or with the cooperation of a doctor to rule out the possibility of pregnancy or ectopic pregnancy.

Pelvic tenderness: If the ectopic pregnancy has not yet ruptured and caused internal bleeding, there may not be similar phenomena, but it needs to be differentiated from pelvic inflammation.

⒋ Changes in the uterus: Since ectopic pregnancy still secretes hormones, it is possible that the uterus will have a slight expansion in the early stages, just like a normal pregnancy.

Lowered blood pressure and faster heartbeat: This condition usually occurs when there is an ectopic pregnancy, rupture, internal bleeding, and shock.

⒍Body temperature : Internal bleeding may cause normal or low body temperature, which can be used for differential diagnosis from fallopian tube inflammation that can cause high fever.

⒎ Pelvic mass: Internal examination or ultrasound examination can reveal abnormal enlargement or mass outside the uterus.

Surgical methods are divided into conservative and radical treatment. Conservative treatment focuses on removing the embryonic tissue of ectopic pregnancy and trying to keep the fallopian tube intact and unobstructed, such as salpingotomy or salpingostomy. Radical surgery is to remove the fallopian tube on the side of the ectopic pregnancy. The advantage of conservative surgery is that it causes less damage to the fallopian tube, thus preserving the patient's reproductive ability as much as possible. However, the disadvantage is that there may still be residual embryonic tissue in the fallopian tube (about 10%) that must be cleaned out again through surgery. At the same time, the chance of ectopic pregnancy in the fallopian tube on the retained side is also higher. The advantages and disadvantages of radical salpingectomy are the opposite of conservative surgery.

This is a drug used in cancer and chemotherapy that effectively kills chorionic villi and therefore destroys the embryonic tissue of an ectopic pregnancy. The general indications for MTX treatment include: ectopic pregnancy less than 6 weeks, tubal pregnancy less than 3.5 cm, and blood β-hCG concentration less than 15000mIU. During the treatment, the patient will be injected with MTX intramuscularly and blood HCG concentration will be tested every 2-3 days. If there is a continuous decline, the patient can continue to be observed. If the decline is not significant, the injection needs to be continued. However, 5% of the patients still need to undergo surgery to remove the ectopic pregnancy embryonic tissue that has not completely atrophied.
