What is the reason why pregnant women fart a lot?

When a woman becomes pregnant, her body will undergo many changes, and these changes will continue until delivery. Many women will find that they fart a lot in the early stages of pregnancy, which makes pregnant women feel particularly embarrassed, and they don’t know what causes pregnant women to fart a lot. In fact, farting a lot is a relatively normal phenomenon for pregnant women, which is caused by changes in the body after pregnancy.

What is the reason why pregnant women fart a lot?

1. Caused by changes in hormone secretion.

During pregnancy, the level of progesterone in the body gradually increases, which weakens the intestinal motility, affects the excretion function, and causes symptoms of bloating and constipation.

2. Uterine expansion, compressing the intestines

It slows down its peristalsis, causing nausea, stomach pain, bloating, difficulty breathing, etc. From a dietary perspective, eating too much staple food and meat, and not enough vitamins and fiber, can also slow down intestinal motility, leading to constipation and frequent farts.

Ways to relieve farting during pregnancy

1. Eat small meals frequently :

When your stomach is bloated, if you eat a lot of food, it will cause your stomach to work too much and make you bloated even more. You can eat 6 to 8 meals a day, eat less food that is difficult to digest, and it is best to choose semi-solid food, such as porridge.

2. Eat more fiber :

You can eat more vegetables and fruits. Foods such as starch, pasta, and beans that are easy to produce gas and cause gastrointestinal discomfort should be eaten relatively less.

3. Drink more hot water :

If there is always feces accumulation in the large intestine, bloating will become more serious, so there must be enough water to promote defecation. It is recommended that expectant mothers drink more warm water and avoid cold water, as cold water can cause intestinal colic and uterine contraction.

4. Proper massage :

When intestinal motility slows down, massage can be used to promote motility. When massaging, try to stay close to the lower abdomen and never massage the uterus, otherwise it will cause uterine contraction or even bleeding.

5. Take more walks :

Walking is a good way to promote intestinal motility. As long as the body is healthy and the fetus is normal, expectant mothers can go outside for a walk for 20 to 30 minutes 30 minutes to 1 hour after a meal.
