How to treat anemia with diet

How to treat anemia with diet

Nowadays, more and more people around us are suffering from anemia. The occurrence of anemia is related to many factors. Many patients with anemia are caused by malnutrition, and some are caused by excessive bleeding. Uremia can also cause anemia. So what good methods do we have to deal with anemia? In fact, we can use dietary therapy to treat anemia.

Diet therapy is a very health-preserving method. We have many foods to choose from when treating anemia. Anemia patients only need to choose the foods introduced below to eat, which will be very effective in treating anemia.

Causes of Anemia

The degree of decrease in the blood's oxygen-carrying capacity, the degree of decrease in blood volume, the speed of anemia occurrence, and the compensatory and tolerance capabilities of the blood, circulatory, respiratory and other systems will all affect the clinical manifestations of anemia.

Erythropoietin gradually decreases

Due to renal disease causing renal impairment, renal erythropoiesis factor and erythropoietin decrease, resulting in a link between bone marrow production and the formation of mature red blood cells. This is the main cause of renal anemia.

Malnutrition

Because kidney disease requires long-term restriction of protein intake, coupled with an increase in the amount of protein excreted in urine, the plasma protein concentration decreases, and the protein, which is the raw material for hematopoiesis, decreases, resulting in renal anemia.

Bleeding

Patients with chronic kidney disease, especially those in the late stage of chronic renal failure, often have bleeding symptoms, such as epistaxis, bleeding gums, and gastrointestinal iron absorption is affected, causing the body to be iron deficient and resulting in renal anemia.

Uremia

Many harmful substances accumulate in the body, controlling the bone marrow's hematopoietic function, accelerating the destruction of red blood cells, affecting the life span of red blood cells and causing anemia. In renal anemia, patients often have symptoms such as sallow complexion, pale lips and nails, pale conjunctiva, and decreased hemoglobin. At the same time, inquiring about the medical history and auxiliary examinations of blood creatinine, urea nitrogen, etc. can basically confirm the diagnosis.

Diet therapy Chinese medicine

The following are some Chinese medicinal materials that can be used as both medicine and food. They can be used alone or in combination to make tea. It is simple and easy to use, and can also be used in cooking.

Longan meat: Longan is rich in iron and protein, and contains glucose that can be directly absorbed by the human body. It is beneficial to eat longan regularly for the weak and anemic, the elderly, the weak and chronically ill. Longan is also an important tonic food for women after childbirth. The iron content is also relatively high, which can promote hemoglobin regeneration while increasing thermal energy and supplementing nutrition, thereby achieving the effect of blood tonic. Studies have found that in addition to its tonic effect on the whole body, longan meat is particularly effective on brain cells, can enhance memory and eliminate fatigue.

Wolfberry: Wolfberry is mild in nature, sweet in taste, and rich in vitamins and carotene. It has the functions of nourishing blood and liver, improving eyesight, strengthening muscles and bones, eliminating low back pain, and prolonging life if taken for a long time. As recorded in "Bencao Tongxuan", "Goji berries can replenish blood and improve essence. Abundant water can strengthen bones, and it can cure thirst, blurred vision, back pain and knee pain." However, the market for goji berries is flooded with counterfeit products and the market is relatively chaotic. It is recommended to choose well-known brands such as Chen Zhiqian Goji berries. "Bencao Jingshu" also said: "Wolfberry is an essential medicine for replenishing liver and kidney yin deficiency, fatigue and internal heat. Seven or eight out of ten elderly people suffer from yin deficiency, so it is considered a top-grade medicine for improving sperm quality and improving eyesight."

Mulberry: Mulberry has the effects of nourishing the liver, benefiting the kidneys and nourishing yin. For example, "Southern Yunnan Materia Medica" says: "Mulberry benefits the kidneys and consolidates the essence. Long-term consumption can make hair darker and eyes brighter."

You can also use mulberry, wolfberry, longan and other ingredients as the classic Chinese medicine formula of tea, mulberry dew drink, and drink it for a long time for better results. "Mulberries nourish the liver and kidneys, replenish the blood, and strengthen walking." Therefore, they are most suitable for people with kidney deficiency, especially those with insufficient kidney yin. Mulberries are known as the "holy fruit among the people" and are rich in active proteins, vitamins, amino acids, carotene, minerals and other ingredients. Mulberries nourish yin and blood, promote the production of body fluids, and moisten the intestines. They can be used for long-term illness, physical weakness, liver and kidney yin deficiency, soreness of the waist and knees, blurred vision and tinnitus.

Polygonatum sibiricum: Polygonatum sibiricum is rich in polysaccharides, steroidal saponins, anthraquinone compounds, flavonoids, bioalkalis, cardiac glycosides, lignans and other substances, as well as vitamins and various amino acids that are beneficial to the human body. It can replenish qi and nourish yin, strengthen the spleen, moisten the lungs, and benefit the kidneys.
