Is Metronidazole effective in treating gynecological diseases?

When it comes to the treatment of gynecological diseases, you need to be cautious in the use of medications, because different diseases require different medications. So for patients, if you find yourself affected by gynecological diseases, you should still take medications under the guidance of a doctor. Metronidazole tablets have a certain effect on the treatment of gynecological diseases and are often used to treat Trichomonas vaginitis or bacterial vaginitis.

1. Metronidazole for the treatment of Trichomonas vaginitis

Metronidazole tablets are generally used to treat Trichomonas vaginitis and bacterial vaginitis. The dosage is 400 mg each time, 2-3 times a day, for 7 consecutive days. However, if you have symptoms of vulvar itching, it is likely that you have candidal vaginitis. If it is candidal vaginitis, metronidazole will not be effective. Therefore, it is recommended that you go to the gynecological clinic for a routine examination of vaginal secretions. If it indicates Trichomonas or common vaginitis, you can take metronidazole orally.

2. Clotrimazole suppositories for the treatment of fungal vaginitis

If it is candidal vaginitis, 2-4% sodium bicarbonate must be used to easily rinse the vulva and vagina, and then miconazole suppository, clotrimazole suppository or nystatin suppository can be used for vaginal medication treatment. If you cannot tolerate local medication, you can use oral fluconazole 150 mg, a single dose is enough. Sexual intercourse is prohibited during the treatment of vaginitis. Change underwear frequently, and take oral levofloxacin tablets, metronidazole tablets and Sanjin tablets for symptomatic treatment.

2. Routine gynecological examination

You can have a routine gynecological examination and check the leucorrhea. If the gynecological disease is caused by other bacterial infections, you can choose targeted drugs and symptomatic treatment to effectively control or cure it. Don’t take medicine blindly. Try to get checked before choosing the right medicine for yourself.
