How to treat metritis?

Metritis refers to inflammation of the pelvic reproductive organs and is one of the common diseases among women. Metritis is not limited to inflammation of one part, but may occur in multiple places at the same time. However, the clinical phenomena usually manifest as four major symptoms: increased vaginal discharge, increased menstruation, pelvic pain and dysmenorrhea. So what is the treatment for metritis?

(1) Moisture heat resistance type:

The treatment is to clear away heat, promote dampness, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis. The prescription uses Simiao Pills (Cheng Fangbian Du) and Peach Kernel and Safflower Decoction (Su'an Yi'an) with modifications.

Prescription: Phellodendron chinense 10g, raw coix seed 20g, Atractylodes lancea 10g, Achyranthes bidentata 10g, peach kernel 10g, safflower 10g, red peony root 10g, Chinese angelica 12g, Chuanxiong 10g, Patrinia scabra 12g, Red vine 12g, raw licorice 10g

If the menstruation is continuous and red in color, add 10 grams of Leonurus japonicus, 15 grams of Rubia cordifolia, and 12 grams of Platycladus orientalis to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, cool blood and stop bleeding; if the leucorrhea is excessive and yellow in color, add 20 grams of Plantago seed (wrapped and decocted) and 15 grams of Alisma orientalis to clear away dampness and heat.

(2) Yin deficiency and internal heat type:

Treat by nourishing yin and clearing heat. The prescription is Zhibai Dihuang Wan (Yi Zong Jin Jian) ​​with modifications.

Prescription: Anemarrhena 10g, Phellodendron 10g, Radix Rehmanniae 10g, Dioscorea 10g, Fructus Corni 10g, Cortex Moutan 10g, Rhizoma Alismatis 10g, Poria 12g, Fructus Ligustri Lucidi 12g, Herba Ecliptae 10g

If the leucorrhea is yellow and smelly, add 12 grams of Patrinia scabra, 15 grams of raw Coix seeds, and 15 grams of Plantago seeds to clear away heat, promote dampness, and stop the leucorrhea; if the patient is irritable and impatient, add 12 grams of stir-fried Gardenia jasminoides, 10 grams of Curcuma aromatica, and 10 grams of Bupleurum chinense to soothe the liver, regulate qi, and clear heat.

(3) Blood stasis type:

The treatment is to promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis, promote qi circulation and relieve pain. The prescription is Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction (from "Yi Lin Gaicuo") with modifications.

Prescription: Angelica 10g, Chuanxiong 10g, Peach Kernel 10g, Safflower 6g, Red Peony Root 12g, Bupleurum 10g, Cyathula 12g, Citrus Aurantium 10g, Radix Rehmanniae 12g

If the lower abdominal pain is obvious, add 10 grams of Puhuang, 10 grams of Aconiti Lateralis Preparata, and 10 grams of Cyperus rotundus to promote blood circulation, qi movement and relieve pain.
